I don’t think this is a good idea:

  1. The current categorization is nonsensical: File:Beetle-Bessbug.jpg has nothing to do whatsoever with “Video standards”. If we want to categorize pictures (!) according to their resolution, let us create Category:Pictures and images by resolution and put it into Category:Pictures and images by size or form, or some similar structure.
  2. It seems silly to walk around manually adding categories for image resolution, since MediaWiki already knows the resolution of the picture. It would be better to add a (simple!) feature of automatically categorizing images according to their resolution (and possibly other features).
  3. And then there are pictures having nothing to do here anyway, like File:Sharp Zaurus SL-C1000 -- open and shiny.jpg.

Hello, OK I agree and changed the category accordingly in Category:Pictures and images by resolution! --WikipediaMaster (talk) 11:43, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
File:Sharp Zaurus SL-C1000 -- open and shiny.jpg deleted from cat. Have you seen others where it is also not the exact size according to the standard? --WikipediaMaster (talk) 11:45, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Automatic feature would be nice! And pictures related to the video standard should be categorized category: 1280x960 (Video standard) then, OK?! --WikipediaMaster (talk) 11:55, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
