English: Tipped or shell cats are silver or golden tabby cats, with extremely faint markings. They are almost pure white-silver or pale honey-golden cats with a sprinkling of darker coloured tipping/shell at the tip of their hair (approx. 1/8 of the hair length), which gives them a sparkling appearance. Most common is the black silver tipped coat. Tipped cats are significantly lighter in overall color than the shaded cats (see: Shaded cats) where 1/3 of the hair length is darker coloured. The tipped coat should have only a tiny amount of tipping on the face and legs. For Persian cats this colour effect is referred to as chinchilla.
