English: Silver tipped cats are almost pure white cats with a sprinkling of darker coloured tipping/shell at the tip of their hair (approx. 1/8 of the hair length), which gives them a sparkling silver appearance. Most common is the black silver tipped coat, but also golden tipped coats exist. Silver tipped cats are significantly lighter in overall color than the silver shaded cats (see: Silver shaded cats) where 1/3 of the hair length is darker coloured. The silver tipped coat should have a tiny amount of black tipping on the face and legs. For Persian cats this colour is referred to as chinchilla.
