English: The Iranian world and its margins - West of Iran and Caucase, 11-13th centuries : slip-coated ceramics with underglaze engraving. Copy of the cartel :""Garrus", "Amol" and "Aghkand" wares feature designs carved into the slip coating over the clay fabric. Their names refer to the sites in Iran where these wares were first discovered in the early 20th century. They have become stylistic labels. This pottery was produced and circulated ouest of the Caspian Sea. Other designs appear to be specific to Rayy, judging from excavation in that city
