The Gopinath temple, also called Gopeshwar Shiva temple of Uttarakhand, is a pre-9th century stone temple in Himalayan town of Gopeshwar. Its age is evidenced by a metal alloy trishul (trident) with four inscriptions. Three of these are Sanskrit inscriptions are short and in early Nagari script from the 6th to 8th century period, while the fourth Sanskrit inscription is longer and attributed to the 12th century Nepalese Hindu king named Ashoka Challa of Mala dynasty.

The Gopinath temple is notable as the Shiva icon in Rudranath temple is moved to it for the winter. The temple has a Nagara style square plan in the Himalayan style. The site once hosted a much larger temples complex, whose ruins and broken statues are preserved in this temple's premises.
