Electric locomotives with a (1Bo)+(Bo1) wheel arrangement, according to the UIC system. This comprises two frames, each with a fixed B1 arrangment of two separately driven axles and a leading carrying axle. These two frames are then articulated. They are classed as articulated, rather than a (1Bo)(Bo1) bogie arrangement.
(1′B)+(B1′) locomotives are very similar, but with a single drive motor or coupled driven axles on each frame, and with the leading axles permitted some sideways movement.
