Baedeker photos
[edit]Hi, thanks for uploading the collection of pages of the Baedeker guide. I see you meant well, and did categorizations that allowed me to quickly find and re-sort your images. However, Categories aren't the same as tags, they are supposed to lead into granular image libraries (Category:London has hundreds of thousands of images if you count all sub-categories). Instead of "Maps" and "London", it it better to go with Category:20th-century maps of London in this case, and once the parent category is too full for a clear overview, it may be good to introduce more granular subcategores, like "1910s maps of London". Once you upload more content, you may want to familiarize yourself with the categories within your field of interest (mine is "maps" ;-).
Some other thing, for large folded maps, you may wish to use a scanner instead of a handheld camera. The results can be very pleasing to study, like the maps of Bacon's or Mogg's, and there are no wrinkles and it has a high image resolution. Not all maps uploaded to commons are that good, of course, but quality content is appreciated!
All the best wishes for your next endeavors! --Enyavar (talk) 09:39, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
