File:Flag of Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania.png has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

I'm sorry to bother you but The winning flag in the competition for the Kociewie flag.svg has been deleted because it was believed to be a copyright infringment. To solve the issue and get it undeleted, a VTR must be sent to the copyright holder (the city council)?--Carnby (talk) 20:36, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Carnby: I was looking for a long time what the problem was and I think that it has been successfully deleted, but it is better to wait a bit with the restoration. It turned out that the local governments commissioned a private foundation to organize a competition, and apparently this foundation has the rights for the time being. Now, a discussion has probably started as to whether the coat of arms, present since 2008, adopted in similar circumstances, is actually a draft in a normative act. I only found news about the competition, and the resulting legal complexities overwhelmed me. Swiãtopôłk (talk) 06:00, 30 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that you uploaded a file using the name File:Great Cantonia Flag.svg. A file by this name already existed on Commons. Overwriting an existing file should not be done except when making minor, uncontroversial corrections, so the file has been restored to its previous version. If the file that you attempted to upload is within our project scope and is in the public domain or published under a free license, please upload it again under a different name. Thank you. For more information, please see Commons:Overwriting files.

Closing Deletion Requests

[edit]

Please do not attempt to close deletion requests yourself. Your attempted closure of Commons:Deletion requests/File:Flag of the Zhuang people.svg disrupted the entire list of discussions for the month of October because you did not close the discussion properly. In addition, it is better to have discussions closed by an experienced user (preferably an administrator) so it is clear that all Commons policies are being followed. Thanks. Infoboxes

[edit]

Hello, do you support adding existing flags to the infoboxes of political parties mainly at English Wikipedia? Thank you for answer. ThecentreCZ (talk) 23:07, 11 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

File:Flag of Formosa 1895.svg

[edit]

i declined your request as i stated in edit summary: if this file is "incorrect" you should just put it in DR. but if you insist and maybe if im wrong you can make another rename request. i belive we should not add "incorrect" to file names, because if it is "incorrect" then it should be deleted. or which kind of "incorrect" is this? maybe "bad vectorization" is better, but again you should replace broken file with better file. modern_primat ඞඞඞ ----TALK 18:47, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Modern primat This is a complex issue, these flags are technically incorrect and should be replaced by new graphics in all articles. Unfortunately, due to different licenses, these files cannot be merged to make the change automatic. At the same time, I am not convinced that the simplified tiger should be removed. When the simplified version was the only one available, it spread a bit on the internet. We once had a similar situation with the Vatican flag, but it didn't get that far here and it probably won't be described in the article for now, but I don't know if it won't be useful someday.Swiãtopôłk (talk) 12:54, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
