User talk:SuperRollex
Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump. |

Hi, One deletion request is enough. I will answer there about the copyright issue. Regards, Yann (talk) 15:05, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
Warning
[edit]Regardless of how angry you feel at any moment, it is important to remain civil in your interactions here. Please stop accusing people of theft. You have raised a deletion request, adding more walls of text doesn't add to your point, and in fact detracts from it. Secondly, please read and understand Commons:Reuse_of_PD-Art_photographs. Since the original photograph was authored in c. 1890, it is highly likely that the photographer has been dead for 70 years. This would make the photograph public domain in the EU. Our longstanding position is that simply scanning a public domain work is not sufficiently creative to incur a new copyright. This is consistent with US law (specifically Bridgeman v. Corel (1999)). While our usual rule is that a work must be free both in the source country and in the US, this represents one of the only exceptions we apply to that rule. This means your deletion request is quite likely to be refused. If you still wish to pursue this afterwards, the next step would be to contact the Wikimedia Foundation... however they almost always concur with the outcome here in these cases. Let me know if you have any further questions, but please be warned that furthur breathless breaches of civility are likely to incur enforced editing breaks. Do not do that. Thanks, Yann (talk) 08:08, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
Please sign your postings
[edit]As a courtesy to other editors, it is Commons:Signatures policy to sign your posts on talk pages, user talk pages, deletion requests, and noticeboards. To do so, simply add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments. Your user name or IP address (if you are not logged in) and the date will then automatically be added along with a timestamp when you save your comment. Signing your comments helps people to find out who said something and provides them with a link to your user/talk page (for further discussion). Thank you.
