Pay attention to copyright
File:Emily skinner 2019.png has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added may soon be deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please replace the copyvio tag with {{subst:OP}} and have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you disagree that the file is a copyright violation for any other reason, please replace the copyvio tag with a regular deletion request.

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Hello Starklinson.

You have uploaded one or more files that are copyright violations. You have done so despite requests from editors not to do so, and despite their instructions. See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules by subject matter useful.

This is your last warning. The next time you upload a file that violates copyright, you will be blocked. Please leave me a message if you have further questions.

Tagging @Diddykong1130 in this as well.
If this is regarding the Emily Skinner files, I would like to point something out. YouTube allows channels to change the license on existing videos.
It was standard for videos from the NickRewind channel to be uploaded under a CC license. If you look through files in Category:Still images from videos by NickRewind, several were approved but if you click on the original video, the license is gone.
This happened to UKGossip TV videos as well. I discussed this with another user - see this File:Joey Essex and Lorena Medina at the National Television Awards.jpg was originally uploaded under a CC license, as evidenced by the fact that it was approved and the Wayback machine (see here). But the original video no longer has that license, leaving the other files uploaded from that channel in limbo. Starklinson (talk) 19:48, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Yann @Diddykong1130 This image, also a NickRewind screenshot, is the perfect example of the phenomenon I'm talking about.
File:Anthony Padilla.png
The linked video shows no CC license, but you can see on the Wayback machine (see here), it did have one before. Starklinson (talk) 19:58, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I unblocked you. Yann (talk) 08:36, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much! Starklinson (talk) 09:55, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Categories need parent categories

[edit]

Thank you for creating a new category or categories. When creating new categories as you did at Category:Saara El-Arifi, please try to include one or more parent categories:

Categories that lack parent categories appear on one of these reports:

Please make sure your categories aren't in these reports by adding at least one category to them.

Thank you. (This is a standardized talk page message)
