File:2015-03-07 - Thinktank - Sasha Taylor - 169.JPG has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Hello, Came across your rather nice pictures of thermionic valves from the Birmingham science museum. I recategorised these under vacuum tubes (a globe valve is a plumbing valve), but i did wonder if you know precisely what sort of valve this is? My guess is that it is a triode, because I see a filament,a grid and a shield which would presumably be the anode. But it might be classed as a diode. I notice it does not have the usual silver inside coating, and is a globe rather than the usual shape. Did it come from a particular device, or maybe even was specially made for demonstration purposes? Sandpiper (talk) 07:28, 7 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Sandpiper: You'd do better to contact the museum; see en:Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museum. Andy Mabbett (talk) 18:54, 7 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
