Hello,

I think the name of the car should be first: that's the important part. The year it was produced is secondary. Regards, Yann (talk) 20:08, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sable232! Just letting you know that that author of the image that I uploaded was released the video under Creative Commons Attribution License (reuse allowed). This means it is not against the rule to upload it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ee2mba (talk • contribs) 02:19, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

YouTube screenshots

[edit]

I've noticed that you had nominated File:2021 Ford F150.png for deletion and it was in fact deleted. This concerned me since I frequently uploaded YouTube screenshots of cars and strictly took screenshots from videos that is marked Creative Commons Attribution license (reuse allowed) and had zero problems or notices from admins. I'm just asking what rule exactly did Ee2mba broke when they uploaded File:2021 Ford F150.png? Because according to Template:YouTube CC-BY, YouTube screenshots are allowed as long it is marked was marked Creative Commons Attribution license (reuse allowed). Or is there any rules that I missed? Gladly looking forward for your answer since I am worried that the deletion of File:2021 Ford F150.png might set a precedent for future similar licensed screenshots from YouTube. He might not know all the rules. He is more experienced on English Wikipedia that Commons Ee2mba (talk) 00:52, 6 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Andra Febrian, I was not aware that YouTube had the option of specifying a copyright license on videos, so I was not looking for one when I tagged those (very low quality and unencyclopedic) images for deletion. It would seem an administrator agreed with the deletion rationale though, so that would be a question for them. --Sable232 (talk) 03:27, 6 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your answer, and yes i've noticed that F-150 screenshot was very low quality which is probably one of the reasons why an administrator thought it's illegitimate. Also for Ee2mba, I suggest to crop those ugly black bars from the screenshot before you upload it to Wikimedia. Andra Febrian (talk) 03:45, 6 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the advice. Ee2mba (talk) 00:57, 7 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
