Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump. |

Thanks for uploading File:St. Thomas Syro Malabar Forane Church Philadelphia Parish Council 2019-21.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:St. Thomas Syro Malabar Forane Church Philadelphia Parish Council 2019-21.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

File copyright status
[edit]Welcome to Wikimedia Commons. While everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the project, one or more of your file uploads had missing or false information regarding its source and copyright status. Please note that Wikimedia Commons takes copyright rules and infringement very seriously. Files may only be uploaded and included if their copyright status meets the conditions stated in our licensing policy, and if their provenance is clearly documented. Files that fail to meet those conditions may be deleted, and users who fail to meet them may be blocked. Please follow our first steps, if you haven't already. If you have questions, feel free to ask at the Village Pump copyright question page or on my talk page. Thank you. --Ytoyoda (talk) 04:23, 4 October 2020 (UTC)

[edit]
Hello Phillypaboy123.
You have uploaded one or more files that are copyright violations. You have done so despite requests from editors not to do so, and despite their instructions. See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules by subject matter useful. This is your last warning. The next time you upload a file that violates copyright, you will be blocked. Please leave me a message if you have further questions. |

- Oppose - This is, of course, patent nonsense. Works of officers or employees of the United States federal government are public domain, but that is not the case for state governments (other than CA, FL and MA). This is precisely why, for example, the source site says "COPYRIGHT 2019". One wonders what part of that the user interprets to mean "CC0 public domain." COM:BP requires an understanding of the issue and a credible commitment to discontinue. Neither are on offer here. Эlcobbola talk 22:39, 6 November 2020 (UTC)

This is your third block for uploading copyright violations, this page is full of warnings for uploading copyright violations, and you kept doing it. You say you will stopped when warned, but you didn't before. Why did you do it, and how will you stop? —Mdaniels5757 (talk • contribs) 21:41, 19 December 2023 (UTC)
- Commons:Requests for checkuser/Case/Phillypaboy123 says the accounts are "unrelated", but the copyright issue remains. See Mdaniels' question above. I reduced the block to 3 months. Yann (talk) 12:46, 20 December 2023 (UTC)
- I mistaked copyright laws and wikipedia commons guidleines, from now on piror to installing photographs, I will look if it falls under the gudielines first Phillypaboy123 (talk) 03:30, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
- OK. Assuming that's true, there's still another problem. - this is my only account — Preceding unsigned comment added by Phillypaboy123 (talk • contribs) 03:44, 18 December 2023 (UTC) (UTC)
Please note this editor uploaded a copyright violation to English Wikipedia shortly after promising to avoid future copyvios ([1]) ~ Pbritti (talk) 19:16, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
- You should also note, I uploaded it under a non-free image category with the source and the direct use of it which follows Wikipedias guidelines. I also directly copied it from the Malayalam Wikipedia Page for that image's non free page and applied it directly onto the English Page. Right now, I think you're just not looking at the facts of the case. The case is, I followed the guidelines for a non-free image upload and you just didn't look clearly. In no disrespect but really please look before you act. Phillypaboy123 (talk) 19:19, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
- I would also like to notify you that this editor "Pbritti"'s claim of speedy deletion of the image she or he's pefering to got denied so please do not take her or his words into account. Phillypaboy123 (talk) 19:24, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
- Your original upload was, in fact, copyright violations. They are set for deletion. ~ Pbritti (talk) 04:33, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
@Mdaniels5757 and Yann: Hey, this account wasn't a sock before, but they sure are now: Phillypaboy124. Requesting an indef and tag for both. ~ Pbritti (talk) 18:56, 11 January 2024 (UTC)
- Although, I would encourage a CU, just to ensure that this isn't Fenrk playing a cruel game of misdirection at Phillypaboy123's expense. Please note that files match those of other Fenrk socks, rather than Phillypaboy123's standard fare: [2]. ~ Pbritti (talk) 18:58, 11 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hey, Yeah this is not me. I didn’t even know about this until Pbritti tagged me (thanks for the notifications). Please believe me and check my history in seeing i haven’t participated in sock puppetry. All my violations were just copyright violations. I do request an investigation into those accounts though. Phillypaboy123 (talk) 19:04, 11 January 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, I believe you, Phillypaboy123. This account is uploading Fenrk's images and them adding them to EnWikipedia as an IP. With your denial, I have little doubt that they're a malicious doppelgänger. I'll go through alternative formal channels since you're blocked here and can't take action yourself. I'm sorry someone is pretending to be you, and I'll make sure they cut it out. Best, ~ Pbritti (talk) 19:22, 11 January 2024 (UTC)
- Phillypaboy124 is Sleevachan. They're impersonating Phillypaboy123. Эlcobbola talk 19:23, 11 January 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you very much Phillypaboy123 (talk) 20:11, 11 January 2024 (UTC)
