Pay attention to copyright
File:Restoration of Georgian brick facade in Limerick re-pointed in Irish Wigging.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added may soon be deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please replace the copyvio tag with {{subst:OP}} and have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you disagree that the file is a copyright violation for any other reason, please replace the copyvio tag with a regular deletion request.

  • This file is a copyright violation for the following reason: In addition to the apparently "before and after" advertising nature of this image, it seems to be taken from the website of the company whose services it seems to be promoting. Namely this webpage. Which was seemingly published before the image was uploaded here. And where it was tagged with a seemingly incompatible copyright statement of "© P Mac Ltd - Dublin, Ireland". Absent an explanation from the uploader on what is going on here, this seems to meet COM:SPEEDY#G10 and COM:SPEEDY#G11.

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

@Guliolopez and Túrelio: I asked the company to upload this educational image, for our and our users' benefit, here. It's not an advert, and it's not a copyvio. This is no way to welcome a new, good-faith contributor. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 17:04, 26 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Guliolopez, Túrelio, and Pigsonthewing: I've restored it given Pigsonthewing's explanation, with apologies to PMACRestoration - and thanks for starting to upload your images here! You may want to submit an OTRS ticket to confirm that you own the rights to the images, to avoid this happening again. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 18:12, 26 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
