Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Mr Taz. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Mr Taz~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell

Galleries
[edit]Galleries don't include text that place are in some Wikipedia, commons are place of pictures, not Wikipedia text. See examples from other galleries and don't add extra text to galleries--Motopark (talk) 14:14, 23 March 2015 (UTC)
United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this gallery, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. |

Category:Masculism symbols
[edit]Why did you add some images, such as File:UNESCO gender equality.jpg, File:Gender equality.png, and File:DBP 1984 1230 Gleichberechtigung.jpg to this category?? I really doubt that a 1984 German postage stamp was issued in honor of "masculism"! AnonMoos (talk) 22:25, 23 November 2021 (UTC)
- "issued in honor of" gender equality = Feminism and Masculism. -- 20:21, 5 December 2021 Mr Taz~commonswiki
- Unfortunately, many people have a very different definition of "masculism" than you do, which causes your categorizations to be confusing... AnonMoos (talk) 21:36, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
- gender equality = Feminism also Masculism. Mr Taz~commonswiki (talk) 07:53, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
- However, many other people use the word "masculism" in a very different meaning. Your equalities and tautologies do not address this problem. AnonMoos (talk) 21:39, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
- many other people use the word "feminism" in a very different meaning. Mr Taz~commonswiki (talk) 15:07, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
- Whatever, dude -- if you want to redefine the commonly-understood meaning a word, then there are various places where you can try to do that, but the Wikimedia Commons category system is not one of them. When I have some time and a good connection, I'm going to remove Category:Masculism from generic gender-equality images where it has no relevance. I imagine that very few regulars on Wikimedian Commons will take your side in this matter. AnonMoos (talk) 10:50, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
Editing
[edit]gender equality = Feminism also Masculism (Same as each other) for the facts! Mr Taz~commonswiki (talk) 13:05, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
- That's your personal definition; it doesn't seem to be most other peoples' definition... AnonMoos (talk) 23:14, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
- not my personal definition, it's gender equality, as DemonstepsDK added Category:Maskulinisme on 26 November 2021.Mr Taz~commonswiki (talk) 20:33, 10 June 2022 (UTC)
- By the way, the purpose of the Wikimedia Commons category system is to distinguish things. If one category had EXACTLY the same meaning as another category, then in most cases it would be considered redundant and unnecessary... AnonMoos (talk) 22:04, 10 June 2022 (UTC)
- are you saying that Feminism and Masculism are both the same. So both of them should be removed?
- Mr Taz~commonswiki (talk) 23:29, 10 June 2022 (UTC)
- Nope, I'm saying that if "Masculism" is claimed to mean exactly the same thing as "Feminism", then ONE OF THE CATEGORIES should be removed according to normal Commons practice. Since your claimed definition of "Masculism" is extremely idiosyncratic and personal to yourself, while "Feminism" has an established clear meaning, that means "Category:Masculism" is the weakest link... [edit]Copyright status: File:The Highway Code, cover to 2022 edition.jpg
This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:The Highway Code, cover to 2022 edition.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

Reminder
[edit]Hi Mr Taz~commonswiki. I noticed that you've made a malformed deletion request. Here, {{Delete}} is not for speedy deletion, please see COM:DP. When you want to delete a page by manually using the {{Delete}} template (rather than the automatic Nominate for deletion tool in the Tools menu on the sidebar per COM:DR#Starting requests), you must follow the instructions in the template, including the "Click here to show further instructions" portion (or Commons:Deletion requests/Listing a request manually policy), otherwise you will create a lot of work for other people. I had the category speedily deleted for you instead. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 20:02, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
Link to deleted image
[edit]Hi Mr Taz~commonswiki. I noticed that your user page is the only place on Wikimedia where the deleted File:Union_Jack_at_the_Eureka_Stockade.jpg is used. Maybe you want to update your page, or replace the link with an alternative version. --Renerpho (talk) 11:17, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
Files should not be located under a redirection, I'm afraid... Wieralee (talk) 16:27, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
The World Wars has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category. In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you! |
