Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). File tagging File:DailyNewAge-May23 2012.jpg
[edit]This media was probably deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:DailyNewAge-May23 2012.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:DailyNewAge-May23 2012.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

- The original link of this news article is - http://newagebd.com/detail.php?date=2012-05-23&nid=11128 which is broken since eight years have passed. I happen to have a hardcopy of the newspaper and File: DailyNewAge-May23 2012.jpg is a digital copy of the article which I would like to share with Wikimedia that can be used as a reference to anyone. Please let me know if anything additional is needed for undeletion. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mmovie365 (talk • contribs) 17:25, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- Please post a scan or photo of the hardcopy and the original screenshot showing the cc-by-sa-4.0 license elsewhere or send a copy via OTRS for verification, and sign your posts. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 17:32, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
File:A Drop Of Love - Poster.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added may soon be deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please replace the copyvio tag with {{subst:OP}} and have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you disagree that the file is a copyright violation for any other reason, please replace the copyvio tag with a regular deletion request.

- Hi,
- I communicated with Banzai Multimedia who originally owns the poster and saying it's being kept in the public domain nowadays. Please let me if anything needed from Banzai Multimedia in order to undelete this poster File: A Drop Of Love - Poster.jpg from Wikipedia Common. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mmovie365 (talk • contribs) 16:42, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- Please have Banzai Multimedia send permission via OTRS with a carbon copy to you because we don't allow Fair Use here. If you want to use the file on English Wikipedia, please read WP:F. Pinging @A1Cafel. Also, please review en:WP:THREAD and en:WP:INDENT. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 16:50, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
The original creator and/or sole owner, Golam Mustofa / Banzai Multimedia of “A Drop Of Love - Poster.jpg” has sent an email already to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org for release of rights to a file. File copyright status
[edit]Welcome to Wikimedia Commons. While everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the project, one or more of your file uploads had missing or false information regarding its source and copyright status. Please note that Wikimedia Commons takes copyright rules and infringement very seriously. Files may only be uploaded and included if their copyright status meets the conditions stated in our licensing policy, and if their provenance is clearly documented. Files that fail to meet those conditions may be deleted, and users who fail to meet them may be blocked. Please follow our first steps, if you haven't already. If you have questions, feel free to ask at the Village Pump copyright question page or on my talk page. Thank you. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 16:53, 3 January 2021 (UTC)

[edit]As a courtesy to other editors, it is Commons:Signatures policy to sign your posts on talk pages, user talk pages, deletion requests, and noticeboards. To do so, simply add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments. Your user name or IP address (if you are not logged in) and the date will then automatically be added along with a timestamp when you save your comment. Signing your comments helps people to find out who said something and provides them with a link to your user/talk page (for further discussion). Thank you.

Copyright violations
[edit]
Hello Mmovie365.
You have uploaded one or more files that are copyright violations. You have done so despite requests from editors not to do so, and despite their instructions. See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules by subject matter useful. This is your last warning. The next time you upload a file that violates copyright, you will be blocked. Please leave me a message if you have further questions. |
— Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 22:49, 3 January 2021 (UTC) I have requested to Golam Mustofa / Banzai Multimedia send permission via OTRS (which has already been done) as you guided before. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mmovie365 (talk • contribs) 03:21, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
