When you transfer an image from another project, could you please clean up the upload? Provide the information template, add categories, ensure the source and author are correct; like this. Sound Logo

Hello,

I am messaging you because a contest for a sound logo for Wikimedia is being developed and your opinion as a Wikimedia Commons admin is appreciated. My team would like to know if it is possible for the top finalist sound logos in the contest to have attribution temporarily hidden from public view until all the votes are final? The idea is to let the public judge the sound logo contestants based on the merit of the logo, not the person or people who made it. Again, any feedback is appreciated.

Category:Flags of Venus

I saw your revert of my tagging this category as empty, saying that I emptied it. I can't see where I emptied the category. I think it was empty when I came across it. I was changing some planet-related categories to goddess-related ones where appropriate, but I didn't think any were in this category. @Auntof6 I said that because you emptied the category page (Special:Diff/692784576) and tagged it as a "page containing nonsense or no valid content" (COM:CSD#G1). For some reason the fact that it was an empty category (COM:CSD#C2) didn't occur to me; I've deleted it for that reason now. Hello. I have seen, you have assigned rights to Sagnamadr by the gadget but it isn't working for a long time: so, the talk page message was wrong (User talk:Sagnamadr#ooui-php-1 granted) and the rights weren't actually assigned (Special:UserRights/Sagnamadr). I nominated this, my own photo, for speedy deletion because I gave it the wrong name. It's a cornerstone for a different church. I'm not going through a long drawn out nomination process for something that is obviously wrong. There is no need for further discussion from anyone. I don't want a redirect with the wrong name on it otherwise I'd move it. I want it eliminated. I suggest you get over you scruples and delete it. It's my photo, my mistake, and I want it gone. This file was deleted 4 times, restored 3 times. In Wiki files *.PMG aren't a higher-quality version how vague. Both JPEG and PNG formats can be loaded together. Care should be taken when the format is different: For example, it is common and useful to have both a PNG and JPEG of the same image, since (due to a long-standing issue with the thumbnailer), JPEGs thumbnail is better. Category deletion process

What's the next step on Commons:Categories for discussion/2022/08/Category:Commons' weirdest photographs, now that the category has been deleted? Will the images and subcategories still listed as part of it be automatically removed by a bot, or should somebody do that manually? About a file

Hey, I hope you are absolutely fine. I really appreciate you for all of your kind help. File:Bangladesh Army vehicle getting on LCU.webm Actually I uploaded this file on 5 march, 2022. At that time Wikimedia Commons had some problems. I modified the (MP4 to webm format) file and it got pretty big in size. So now I have remodeled the file and made it smaller. Most of all the current file has some reddish colour effect. Now I completely fixed that issue. To delete a file I mostly use "speedy delete Problem with the title". Hi, I noticed on COM:BR that you are running a touchbot, thanks a lot for that! Since some years I did so occasionally, not regularly, when I found out that there are some more categories which are affected by this problem. Multiple copyvios

Thanks for deleting this copyvio that I had reported. Can you take a look at the related AN report about other copyvios uploaded by the same user? Note that since the filing of the AN report, the user has uploaded two more photographs, which I believe are not copyvios. DPLA duplicates

As you've noticed, I started doing {{Duplicate}} tagging for DPLA's duplicates. I wrote some code to determine which is the valid identifier, and then to later rename original files after the new one is deleted. I wanted to thank you for performing most of the deletions so far. Please let me know what is the best approach for me to take here. Would you prefer I tag all in one go? It's more than 20,000. Or I can space it out to not overload the process, if you prefer. @Dominic Hmm. Probably all in one run if you can throttle/slow down the bot a bit: that'd still spread it out over 56 hours if you're going once every 10 seconds, 39 hours for 7 seconds/edit, or 28 hours for 5 seconds/edit. (It looks like you're going once every 3-4 seconds now, which is probably too fast for this anyways; I'd adjust the bot to edit every 5-10 seconds.) —‍Mdaniels5757 (talk • contribs) 16:22, 7 November 2022 (UTC)

Merge duplicates

Hello Mdaniels5757. My understanding is that users merging duplicates also merge categories. Is this not the case? For example File:Barack Obama meets with healthcare stakeholders 5-11-09 2.jpg was categorized under Category:Healthcare reform in the United States. It was then removed but the category was not added to the file File:P051109PS-0115 (3523390726).jpg. Is this up to the user nominating the duplicate file to do? Thanks. Blank paper deletion

File:Blank Paper Stuck on “Freedom” the Slogan Board in Xidian University as Protest, Nov 27 2022 (cropped).jpg was deleted under G7. It was used in at least three en-WP articles and several articles on other wikis. I technically uploaded the cropped and contrast-adjusted version; obviously it must have been the uploader of the original (which I think was unused) who requested the deletion. Thank you. That log is odd. On enwiki, the image uses were delinked (and in some cases relinked) by FileDelinkerBot.[1][2]

All the images in Category:2022 COVID-19 protests in China at Xidian University, which were by the same uploader, seem to have gone; I assume they listed them for deletion via Wikimirror as in the restored file histories. I don't know if the mirror matters. As this is a sensitive topic, perhaps there was some sort of other administrative action that caused the log confusion. Not sure if this helps. I am requesting this on your talk page because you were involved in w:en:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Keosamnangkh9999/Archive#05_December_2022 and have personally blocked the users listed there on commons. However, if you take a look at Special:Contributions/RRezu, it appears that this user uploaded the file Keo Samnang.jpg, which means they need to be blocked as well. This user is also actively writing promotional articles on kmwiki with the use of other files that they uploaded here. The only difference in page number comes from the fact that File:PL Nietzsche - Ludzkie, antyludzkie T1.djvu on PDF p. 234 and 235 has quarters of whites page which are not in the original source.
