1. About the template
No, that is NOT VALID on commons, so I?m deleting your template. COmmons cannot invoke fair use since it's just a repository and not commenting on the images. Commons does not only server wikipedia either.
Image:Pallet map.png and others are also being deleted they CAN NOT be released as GFDL since you don't have the copyrights, and since they can't be under a free license they are not allowed on commons
If you reupload pokemon content or recreate the template you're liable to get your account blocked. -- Drini 23:14, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Pokemon
[edit]Hello,
No Pokemon screenshot on Commons, please. Thanks, Yann 17:58, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
Hello, why do you think this image is free ? We dont know who is the owner of this image, and there are no information about the licence. Do you understand if the owner dont release it under GFDL, we can't use it on Commons under GFDL. I wait for your comment, thanks. ~ bayo or talk 11:17, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
- Hello, and thanks for your reply. The problem is you can't proof Image:GameCube XD.PNG in out of copyright because you dont know who own this image. I think http://www.pokemonelite2000.com only use image from another website. ~ bayo or talk 12:38, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- Only solution is the deletion. I add a Copyvio tag. ~ bayo or talk 19:32, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
Image deletion warning | Image:Portal poke logo.PNG has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this image, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. If the file is up for deletion because it has been superseded by a superior derivative of your work, consider the notion that although the file may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new file. |

Image Tagging Image:DS_PokéPark.PNG
[edit]
Thanks for uploading Image:DS_PokéPark.PNG. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use cc-by-sa-2.5 to release it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license or PD-self to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. [edit]So tell me. --Dodo 16:56, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
- Ooops. No: blatant copyright violations are just deleted without previous warning, as stated in the upload form. I cannot read japanese, but here it says "Copyright (c) 2004 by Softbank PublishingInc. All rights reserved."
- So I deleted this picture again. Regards. --Dodo 16:58, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

Material under the fair use clause is not allowed on the Commons. —LX (talk, contribs) 19:54, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- Excuse me, but only to ask: you deleted Image:The Subspace Emissary.PNG stating I was using the image under Fair Use. However, in those two countries mentioned in the description, there is not a Fair Use law. However, you might be right about the image. But the fact is that if I used this image and it was deleted, why images, such as this one keep existing? Aditionally, is there a way to see the summary I wrote on the image or it is gone?
- Thank you for your attention,
- Please respect my request to keep discussions where they started, as this makes conversations easier to follow. I am watching this page, so I will see responses made here.
- The articles you referenced of the Brazilian and Portuguese constitutions are fair use provisions; they allow for limited use under certain limited circumstances and even explicitly exclude commercial uses. The necessity of statements like "Therefore, it is legal the use of this image on the Lusophone Wikipedia, knowing it shall not be used for other ways that not educational or informative purposes" definitely shows that this is not an image under a free license. Please do read Commons:Licensing and try to understand the copyright and licensing requirements that apply here before making further uploads.
- Image:Final Fantasy wordmark.svg does not meet the threshold of originality required for copyright protection, for reasons explained by the PD-textlogo tag on its description page. That tag does not apply to Image:The Subspace Emissary.PNG, because it does not constitute "text in a general typeface".
- The image description can be seen by administrators. If you would like a copy of it, you can enable e-mail in your preferences and let me know, or I can paste it in here if you would prefer that. —LX (talk, contribs) 21:58, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
I'd appreciate if you could put the description here. Thanks for the explanation and I'm sorry if you thought I was arguing with you.
Thanks for the attention,

Hello ManecoWifi,

Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.CategorizationBot (talk) 11:59, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
