Image Tagging Image:Logo_aaaf.gif
[edit]
Thanks for uploading Image:Logo_aaaf.gif. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{self|cc-by-sa-2.5}} to release it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. Please do not recreate deleted images
[edit]
Your image or other content, Image:Logo tas.gif, was recently deleted in accordance with our process and policies. You have recreated this content after it was deleted. Please do not do that. If you would like to contest the deletion, please visit Commons:Undeletion requests and follow the instructions there to have the deletion reviewed.
Recreating deleted content outside of process is not a good idea, and doing so repeatedly may be cause for you to lose the privilege of contributing here. Thank you for your understanding. —LX (talk, contribs) 07:09, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
Blocked again
[edit]
—LX (talk, contribs) 07:09, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- Please unblock me
- I try to include in COMMONS picture which are already on FRENCH WIKI
- - Symphonie.jpg, personal creation
- - logo_tas_gig, a multinational company whose headquarters is in France and has subsidiaries in many european countries.
- I don't understand why you block these pictures
--Kasos 06:31, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- You were blocked because you uploaded works which are not permissible on Wikimedia Commons according to our licensing policy (French version) and because you repeatedly recreated images which had been deleted in accordance with our policies and processes in spite of our instructions and warnings.
- In particular, because corporate logotypes are generally not freely licensed to allow anyone to use them (with or without modifications) for any purpose (including commercial purposes), they are specifically enumerated as an example of content which must not be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons.
- I see that you have claimed that fr:Image:Logo tas.gif is licensed according to the terms of the GNU Free documentation license when you uploaded the logotype to French Wikipedia, a claim that you repeated when uploading the image here. Note that only the legitimate copyright holder of the logotype (Thales Alenia Space) may approve such a license. I see no evidence to suggest that Thales Alenia Space has approved the GFDL licensing, nor do I find it likely that they would. Fraudulently attaching licensing statements which the copyright holder has not approved is a criminal offense.
- Symphonie.jpg had been deleted three times before I deleted it. As you've already been informed, the correct course of action if your images are deleted is to make your case at Commons:Undeletion request, not to persistently upload the image again and again in the hopes that it will go unnoticed. You've been warned not to do this in the past, and you've previously been blocked for the same reason.
- As you insist that you have done nothing wrong when uploading copyrighted logotypes in violation of copyright laws and Commons' policies and when recreating images outside of the prescribed processes, I find it likely that you would continue in the same manner if unblocked, and I will therefore not unblock you. I suggest you use the time during which you are blocked to read Commons:Licensing and the warnings you have received.
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Kasos. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Kasos~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell

File:Guy lebegue.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |
