Stated location on Commons:Questionable Flickr images?

Hi Jeff. User:LX added a couple of new entries to COM:QFI, and mentioned that he didn't understand why the location ("from Spain", "from US", etc.) was important (User_talk:LX#Commons:Questionable_Flickr_images_contributions). I admit I don't either. It seems you added those to your entries, so I wonder if I'm missing something. Why do you think they're needed or helpful? --AnonEMouse 22:00, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

I was copying info presented by Flinfo in the "Author" field of Template:Information for consistency - I am asking Flominator (via referral to this section on User talk:Flominator/Flinfo) why the locations are needed or helpful in that "Author" field.   — Jeff G. Good question. I find the "Author" field's location subfield helpful in determining the likelihood of a particular Flickr user actually having taken a particular photo.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 20:09, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
