File:JehuTJ 1902redux(1).pdf has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

An update from Wiki Loves Monuments UK
[edit]Thank you for taking part in Wiki Loves Monuments UK | |
More than 300 people have contributed a total of 4,000 photos to this year's competition and we wanted to say thank you for helping us get this far. The competition runs until the end of September, and you can upload as many images as you want - so feel free to document some more sites. Or why not go through your old images to see if you have any others that could be submitted?
Since you've already submitted some pictures to the competition, you might be interested in the banner mini-contest; to take part you crop your images to a 7:1 and upload a new version. You can find out more about how to do that here. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy the competition and share it with others! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 12:24, 22 September 2017 (UTC)} |
September 2019: it's Wiki Loves Monuments time again!
[edit]Hi
You're receiving this message because you've previously contributed to the annual Wiki Loves Monuments contest in the UK. We'd be delighted if you would do so again this year and help record our local built environment for future generations.
You can find more details at the Wiki Loves Monuments UK website. Or, if you have images taken in other countries, you can check the international options. This year's contest runs until 30 September 2019.
Many thanks for your help once more! MichaelMaggs (talk) 15:35, 3 September 2019 (UTC)
Pay attention to licensing
|
Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content: images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose.
File:Younger brother, or, The sufferings of Saint Andre.pdf seems to be free (or it would be proposed for deletion), but it was identified as having a wrong license. Usually, it is because a public domain image is tagged with a free license, or because the stated source or other information is not sufficient to prove the selected tag is correct. Please verify that you applied the correct license tag for this file. If you believe this file has the correct license, please explain why on the file discussion page.

- @Ruthven: sorry, i don't see the issue here - looks like the copyright tag is accurate. Can you provide more info? Gweduni (talk) 06:46, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, the copyright tag is accurate because I changed it! You marked all these uploads as your own work, released under Creative Commons license. Unless you're 2-3 centuries old, it is a nonsense. --Ruthven (msg) 07:49, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
- oh dear, I've been uploading using PattyPan and entering the CC BY licence into the license section. Can you advise on how to get round this? We have uploaded several hundred of these books so may need to do a bulk licence change if that's possible? Gweduni (talk) 08:08, 29 April 2020 (UTC)

- @Ruthven: I've noticed you have used the PD-old tag so will use this for uploads from now on Gweduni (talk) 13:53, 30 April 2020 (UTC)
- I think that I've corrected a certain amount of them, but feel free to double check. {{PD-old}} is a valid license tag for a 2 centuries old book, even if a little generic. You can use for such works {{PD-old-100-expired}} --Ruthven (msg) 14:18, 30 April 2020 (UTC)

- Thanks for making the corrections - will look over some of them to see if there are more still to do. For now we will stick with PD-old as can't guarantee the authors are in the lifetime plus 100 years or fewer category Gweduni (talk) 14:25, 30 April 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for participating in Wiki Loves Monuments 2020! Please help with this survey
[edit]Dear Gweduni,
Thank you for contributing to Wiki Loves Monuments 2020, and for sharing your pictures with the whole world! We would like to ask again for a few minutes of your time. Thanks to the participation of people like you, the contest gathered more than 200K+ pictures of cultural heritage objects from more than 50 countries around the world.
You can find all your pictures in your upload log, and are of course very welcome to keep uploading images and help develop Wikimedia Commons, even though you will not be able to win more prizes (just yet). To make future contests even more successful than this year, we would like to invite you to share your experiences with us in a short survey.
Please fill in this short survey and help us learn what you liked and didn't like about Wiki Loves Monuments 2020.
Kind regards,
the Wiki Loves Monuments team, 08:21, 14 November 2020 (UTC)

Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose.
