Our first steps help file and our FAQ will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy. You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki ‒ it is really easy. More information is available at the Community Portal. You may ask questions at the Help desk, Village Pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons. You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at Commons talk:Licensing. |

OTRS
[edit]Have you sent already an email to the OTRS? ★ Poké95 01:51, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
Files / copyright are owned by the uploader
[edit]As cited in this wiki article: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:OTRS#Licensing_images:_when_do_I_contact_OTRS.3F, It is my work and is unnecessary to contact OTRS. Pls. dont force and make your own standards here, when in fact, I have already complied with the rules of Wiki Commons upon uploading these family pictures.
When contacting OTRS is unnecessary
If any of the following statements is one you could make with regard to the file you wish to upload, you do not need to contact OTRS:
"I created the file myself
it hasn't been previously published, and I am the sole owner of its copyright." Just follow the instructions found on the Commons:Upload page, unless the image/ file is of outstanding or professional quality or there is some other reason your authorship may be doubted. Fabyan17 (talk) 02:04, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
- But we just cannot believe that you're the heir of the copyright owner. Also, you're not the copyright owner of the batch 2001 photo. It needs permission from the photographer, which is not you. ★ Poké95 02:08, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
Your belief is subjective and beyond my conrol, I have already said it is my work and have complied with the wikimedia commons, do not insist your personal beliefs when I have already followed the guidelines of wiki commons. The 2001 work is my work, hence the watermark Fabian Santos, it was taken during our graduation day by our camera. Again, read the OTRS Article on why it is unnecessary to contact them. Fabyan17 (talk) 02:12, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
- Ok, I removed the "no permission" tag on the 2001 work, but who is the photographer of the images where Vicente Santos is the subject? Obviously Vicente Santos is not the copyright holder unless it is a work for hire (and if it is, then he have to prove it to the OTRS). ★ Poké95 02:17, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
- Oh, so it is taken by your family. But who specifically? Your mother? You? ★ Poké95 02:19, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
Common sense dictates that those pictures taken / shot by our family in the 1960's are from our personal album / property , those were shot during the wedding and college ball of my father, I don't need to prove it to the OTRS since it is unnecessary based on the OTRS article: When contacting OTRS is unnecessary

likewise, my father and his parents who took those shots have already died, hence, it is being used in the biography wikiarticle of Vicente Santos Jr. I hope you understand that. Fabyan17 (talk) 02:27, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
- Ok, so since the copyright holder/photographer died, and your the heir, you hold the copyright. And since you're the copyright holder now, you can freely license the images of your father, so, I will remove the "no permission" tags. Thank you for clarifying. ★ Poké95 02:32, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
Yes, I have been telling this over and over, it was unnecessary to go over this discussion, if editors will just use common sense and realize that I have already complied with the requirements of wikipedia commons since the time I uploaded these pictures. Again, Thanks and pls remove all other tags that you have unnecessarily attached with the uploaded photos that our family owns.Fabyan17 (talk) 03:08, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
Fotos / scans
[edit]Hello! You still need to name the author. 1966 photographs aren't PD yet, 1969 either. They can only be licensed if you are the copyright holder = heir. For that you need to name the author. Further, the photograph of the Col. speaking needs an author as well. The date (2015) can't be correct, since the wiki article states 2012 as the year of his passing. Thanks for your uploads! --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 03:56, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
- Oh, thanks Hedwig. I forgot about that "2015" photo. Fabyan17, is the "2015" photo taken by your family? Thanks, ★ Poké95 04:21, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
