Category:Reliefs (Wege zum Zoo Wuppertal)
Hallo
--Atamari (talk) 21:20, 23 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hi! Thank you for this explanation. I agree that «Category:Sculptures in Zoo Wuppertal» is not quite suitable for «Category:Reliefs (Wege zum Zoo Wuppertal)». --Elkost (talk) 21:49, 23 February 2018 (UTC)

Houses of culture in Marburg
Hello Elkost, you created the Category:Houses of culture in Marburg. What ist the difference to the already existing Category:Cultural buildings in Marburg? Best regards --Hydro (talk) 18:47, 12 May 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, Hydro! Both „Category:Waggonhalle Marburg“ and „Category:trauma im g-werk“ were in „Category:Houses of culture in Germany“ and in „Category:Cultural buildings in Marburg“. So I united them in „Category:Houses of culture in Marburg“ just to distinguish them from the other cultural buildings in Marburg and to show their city in the higher category. --Elkost (talk) 19:58, 12 May 2018 (UTC)

Arts festival of the United States
Please do not change "of" in "in". The main category is "Festivals OF", and we must keep consistency with it. If you want to change the schema open a discussion and do not modify according to your taste (not to mention that you redirected it the wrong way). -- SERGIO (aka the Blackcat) 08:09, 14 September 2018 (UTC)
- What was wrong in redirecting according to you? --Elkost (talk) 08:18, 14 September 2018 (UTC)
- That's the less important point. The most important point is that I asked you not to thange "festival of" in "festival in". What's not clear in that? -- SERGIO (aka the Blackcat) 11:19, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
- 1. I agree, dear SERGIO/Blackcat, this is not the most important, but thus (not answering me) your opinion still remains unexplained.
- 2. Regarding the prepositions „of“ and „in“, please pay attention that they attribute different senses to the concerned themes – „of“ shows some broad affiliation (even belonging) while „in“ demands a location. Obviously „in“ is the proper preposition because the huge majority of the festivals are categorized by country of location – one hardly could find festivals, belonging to a country/city/etc. but hold in another location, such export of festivals would be rare phenomenon. Therefore a lot of festival categories (and their subcategories) use not „of“, but „in“. That is why I strongly recommend you before reverting edits of experienced editors (like me, with 300 000+ edits here, administrator in Bg.wiki) to discuss their edits with them; thus you will prevent conflicts and hostility and assure cooperation. --Elkost (talk) 12:47, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
- Let's start from the redirect: one cannot simply revert the link, for history and copyright reasons. Switching a category redirect involves:
- deleting the target category;
- moving the source category to the target category;
- merging the histories of both (old and new) categories to make them as one
- Any else method is wrong (unless of course we don't care about the history of both categories).
- For the naming: "of" means that they belong to a certain cultural / admministrative domain; "in" means that they are occasionally / permanently hosted in a place with no regards for the culture or environment where they take place. The 1990 edition of the FIFA World Cup is a sports tournament in Italy, the Italian football championship is a sports competition of Italy, but how can we state definitely what's "of" and what's "in"? If you want to change the scheme you'd better open a CfD and discuss there. -- SERGIO (aka the Blackcat) 10:11, 5 October 2018 (UTC)

Cats removal
Hello, I just realized this edit of yours, what is the problem with those cats? Poco2 14:57, 20 October 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, Poco! In fact there is no problem, it's a fault of mine: I have changed a category and rearranged others (separating hidden from visible cats) but I have not noticed that finally some cats have disappeared! Sorry, I will restore deleted cats. Have a nice evening! --Elkost (talk) 15:12, 20 October 2018 (UTC)
- Ah, ok, no problem, thanks for the quick answer, cheers! --Poco2 15:20, 20 October 2018 (UTC)
