Лучше сразу оба. Там где гриб растет - качество отличное без сомнений, а второй вариант тоже может получить поддержку. В Quality images нет ограничений на количество фотографий одного и того же объекта.

Ваше фото ужика очень понравилось. Однако не выставляйте его пока на FP. Там недавно был просто шикарный портрет этой змейки, так что сейчас поддержка будет не очень сильной.

И еще - относительно оценок калерны. Он практически всегда и всем ставит минусы, так что к этому уже все привыкли, не огорчайтесь и не обращайте внимание. Видимо, это его искреннее восприятие мира.

Всегда пожалуйста. Я тоже ужиков этим летом фотографировал. Про другого ужа вспомнили, но все равно шансы на победу хорошие. Вам остается еще сделать номинацию на значимые изображения (VI), чтобы был полный комплект наград. Изображение дня выбирается случайно из числа FP, которые раньше не были изображением дня. На практике получается, что обычно участники сами свои работы выдвигают. Порядок действий такой:

• 1) смотрим Template:Potd/2010-05 (или другой нужный год/месяц), шаблон месяца уже должен быть создан кем-то раньше.
• 2) выбираем пустой день, при этом желательно не попасть на какой-то особый день, годовщину особого события.
• 3) Если день пустой, то нажимаем справа под цифрой дня красную ссылку "change image" (лучше правой кнопкой мышки - открыть в новой вкладке или в новом окне).
• 4) Заносим информацию в формате
  {{Potd filename|Example_My_file.jpg|2010|05|03}} (имя файла и год|месяц|день указываем правильно) и сохраняем.
• 5) Открываем описание файла и записываем туда вверху
  {{picture of the day|year=2010|month=05|day=03}} . Рядом туда же же звезду FP переносим и всё сохраняем.
• 6) Возвращаемся к пунктам 1) и 2) для того же дня, только уже создаем описание для каждого языка отдельно (лучше правой кнопкой мышки - открыть в новой вкладке или в новом окне). Образец такой:
  {{Potd description|1=Green shield bug|2=en|3=2010|4=05|5=03}} . Параметр 2= должен соответствовать языку в имени ссылки и фактическому описанию. В этом сообщении чтобы тэги не работали, я их заблокировал с помощью nowiki.

Вот и всё. Заморочно, но вполне по силам. В качестве образца можно смотреть уже созданный вариант на 3 мая.

• Hi Jee,

Your last picture in FP has some problems: too much of green color in the photo, noise and too dark shadows.
All Panasonics cameras take too much green colour and noise in photos. I use Topaz noise filter. There should not be any dark objects in the background.

• Thanks, Darius. Yes; the last one is very noisy and taken in low lights of early morning. Further spot metered due to the white color. I just nominated it know the opinion.
• What about jpeg artifacts in files by Panasonic cameras? Is it a known issue or it is due to the use of extended zoom facility of the camera? Or due to my processing in NeatImage to remove the noise. I don't know much Photoshop techniques; so I use NeatImage.

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2012 Picture of the Year competition is now open. We're interested in your opinion as to which images qualify to be the Picture of the Year for 2012. Voting is open to established Wikimedia users who meet the following criteria:

1. Users must have an account, at any Wikimedia project, which was registered before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC].
2. This user account must have more than 75 edits on any single Wikimedia project before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC]. Please check your account eligibility at the POTY 2012 Contest Eligibility tool.
3. Users must vote with an account meeting the above requirements either on Commons or another SUL-related Wikimedia project (for other Wikimedia projects, the account must be attached to the user's Commons account through SUL).

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. From professional animal and plant shots to breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historically relevant images, images portraying the world's best architecture, maps, emblems, diagrams created with the most modern technology, and impressive human portraits, Commons features pictures of all flavors.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topic categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you can vote for as many images as you like. The first round category winners and the top ten overall will then make it to the final. In the final round, when a limited number of images are left, you must decide on the one image that you want to become the Picture of the Year.

Wikimedia Commons celebrates our featured images of 2012 with this contest. Your votes decide the Picture of the Year, so remember to vote in the first round by January 30, 2013.
