I don't understand why this picture should violate anything. I created the picture and I uploaded it. What can I do to get the picture back? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hsommerfeldt (talk • contribs) 08:06, 11 August 2017 (UTC)

I've responded to this on your talk page. Guanaco (talk) 07:39, 12 August 2017 (UTC)

I've responded on your talk page. Guanaco (talk) 07:39, 12 August 2017 (UTC)

Farewell

I have to admit, I was disappointed by your parting deletion spree, that was uncalled for; you were caught so you decided to burn everything down? But thanks for the good you did, before then, there was a lot of it. --GRuban (talk) 15:03, 11 August 2017 (UTC)

I'm sad too. I considered you a good admin both on enwp and here, and a kind person. What a pity. Be well. Yngvadottir (talk) 19:56, 11 August 2017 (UTC)
@GRuban and Yngvadottir: Much appreciated. As for my spree, I've long suffered from bi-polar disorder: Sometimes I have outbursts like this where it really seems as if someone else was saying and doing it, and the real me was watching from somewhere close, but not involved. At those times a half hour goes by in a minute it seems, and I feel strangely detached and distant. Take care, and God bless you and my other friends here. Daphne Lantier 05:11, 12 August 2017 (UTC)

I'm not sure what's going to happen, but I think Commons has been a better place with you here. I hope we can all figure something out, and regardless I hope you're okay. Guanaco (talk) 07:39, 12 August 2017 (UTC)

Hi Daphne Lantier, in the light of the recent events I have opened a regular desysop request per this discussion. Regards, AFBorchert (talk) 07:26, 11 August 2017 (UTC)

@AFBorchert: You can go through that and have some fun with it, but if a resignation from me would help, than I resign as an admin. I did my 80k actions , and I consider the account scuttled. I've also contacted WMFOffice to assure them that I never once mishandled any OTRS or CU private info, and that I have no such info saved on any device that I own. I would also remark that 1989 is not a sock of mine. Trijnstel may be able to confirm or at least comment on that, though I would think CU comparison between Daphne and 1989 here should prove beyond doubt that 1989 is not related to me in any way. I don't want to see someone else get in trouble for my actions. I don't regret a thing I did as Daphne or INeverCry, I had a good time with it overall, but the whole thing is my responsibility. I say this because it's been brought up that others may have had an inkling that I was using the Daphne sock. Never once did I tell any other person what I was doing. All anyone else could have had was guesses, but nobody had direct evidence of the socking. Good night. Daphne Lantier 05:03, 12 August 2017 (UTC)
Hi Daphne Lantier, I've posted your statement at the desysop page and notified the crats. Regards, AFBorchert (talk) 05:29, 12 August 2017 (UTC)
I would like to add a personal note, INeverCry/Daphne Lantier. I am sure that I do not speak alone when I wish you farewell and all the best but please do not return, please do not pull this again. Browse through the desysop votes and note how many of those who considered you a friend and held you in high regard are saddened and shocked. Trust is gone and even 80k logged actions cannot outweigh the deception that comes with this kind of socking. All this was and will be toxic to the community as every aspiring newcomer or admin candidate who is willing to attack the backlogs will be seen with suspicion. Regards, AFBorchert (talk) 05:51, 12 August 2017 (UTC)
AFB, what you say is understandable, but I think this is unnecessary. The appeals to emotion and statements about being friends, sad, shocked etc. are not helpful to INC when the facts are sufficient. INC was failed by our processes and when experienced community members were discussing the potential socking on IRC, should have been directly approached about the use of socks and asked, firmly, to resign the sysop tools. The desysop vote is an vilification that neither helps INC move on, nor the community to decide how to respond to a significant contributor who is prepared to explain to the community that they have a condition that affects their ability to edit and their judgment when using tools. For this reason I have not taken part in the desysop vote, nor do I even want to read it.
INC should be encouraged to take a break and then consider returning when they feel more stable. If there are to be learning points, they should be along the lines that the larger Wikimedia projects need to be able to support contributors with conditions that may make them unreliable at times, and offer community managed solutions, such as voluntary account blocks or some online buddies that can intervene if it becomes necessary.
INC had a serious lapse in judgement in sockpuppeting rather than managing a full clean start, and then had a half hour of being out of control in charge of the sysop tools. This may mean that they should never take the responsibility for the tools in the future, and should come clean about all alternative accounts they have, but it does not mean that they can never become a valued and respected contributor without the burden of these responsibilities.
Thanks -- (talk) 08:01, 12 August 2017 (UTC)

-1. AFBorchert is right. This was not a "lapse in judgement" but long term deception of the community. It started long before INC promoted Daphne towards adminship, and we have reason to believe there are other "Daphne" accounts that are/can be used. While the lie that is the RFA was towards the whole community, this was not a single event or a single mistake made where emotionally in a bad place. Daphne came to my talk page to seek advice under the guise of a new admin, spinning lies about being unaware of the history of the editors being discussed, and of course, spinning the lie that the were a new admin and inexperienced. There was no need for that, in order to maintain their deception, and Daphne was playing me for a fool. It appears I am not alone in this, and the assume-good-faith the community showed was in fact abused and twisted for this game. There is hurt, and there is also a feeling that Commons has been damaged: we will be less trusting and less open. I even now have doubts that all the medical/emotional claims made by INC are in fact real. We only have his word for this, and his word is less than worthless: we know it to be false and invented. So, no, there is no possible future role for INC on Commons. A deceiptful character has no place here and would cause continued harm to the community. Please, INC, find another hobby. -- Colin (talk) 18:43, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
This has been going on for a long time. user:Rosario Berganza was an earlier account as stated in Commons:Administrators/Requests/Daphne Lantier. This account was editing during the same periods as INC. (2014/2015) Strangly Rosario Berganza identified as female, INC as male and Daphne - again - as female. We have been deceived for years by someone we once called friend. Natuur12 (talk) 19:51, 14 August 2017 (UTC)

Why will it not let me upload the photos I took?

Below is an example of a photo that I took, and cropped on my droid phone. I get this message what I try to upload it:

"This page has been deleted. The deletion, protection, and move log for the page are provided below for reference.

00:52, 25 April 2017 Daphne Lantier (talk | contribs) deleted page Abuse filter (Out of project scope)"

Why will this site not let me add it to the Aqua Velva wiki?

@Eric.cat: ; Unfortunately, the user that deleted those images (i.e. Daphne Lantier, whose talk page we're discussing this on) is currently blocked indefinitely and not in a position to explain why this was done or reverse the changes. I've posted a comment to the Administrators' noticeboard asking for another admin to help out here.
(I'm not an admin myself, and not in a position to help directly). Ubcule (talk) 20:53, 21 August 2017 (UTC)
We have an undeletion request page: COM:UDR. You can request undeletion there if you think this former admin made an error. Jcb (talk) 21:06, 21 August 2017 (UTC)

Question about block evasion

Hi Daphne!

Can a user upload or edit content here on behalf of another user that is indefinitely blocked on Commons?

The content is valid but it looks like some sort of block evasion to me.

Thanks! Dune Sodium (talk) 03:43, 27 August 2017 (UTC)

Unfortunately, the user under the name of Daphne Lantier has been blocked indefnitely, and is in no position to help you. You can however ask other administrators. Zhangj1079 (T|C|U) 18:14, 30 August 2017 (UTC)

Atentamente. --E4024 (talk) 09:09, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

Give your feedback about changes to Special:Block

Hello,

You are receiving this message because you are a top user of Special:Block on this wiki. Thank you for the important work that you do. There is a discussion happening about plans to improve Special:Block with the ability to set new types of blocks. To get the best design and new functions added, it is essential that people who use the tool join the discussion and share their opinions about these changes.

Instead of a full site wide block, you would be able to set a Partial Block. A user could be blocked from a single page, multiple pages, one or more namespaces, from uploading files, etc. There are several different ways to add this feature to Special:Block. Right now Important decisions are being made about the design and function.

Please review the page on Meta and share your feedback on the discussion page. Or you can reach me by email Also, share this message with anyone else who might be interested in participating in the discussion.

I appreciate any time that you can give to assist with making improvements to this feature. Cheers, SPoore (WMF) (talk) , Trust and Safety Specialist, Community health initiative (talk) 02:00, 10 August 2018 (UTC)

  • Apologizes for posting in English.
  • @SPoore (WMF): This was a very poor choice of notification. Firstly this user talk page is opted out of message delivery, which nobody using mass messaging should ever ignore. Secondly this account was indefinitely blocked a year ago. Not an impressive example of WMF project use of messaging tools. Are you going to fix this problem or choose to take no action? -- (talk) 09:57, 21 September 2018 (UTC)

File:Ami-Drach.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
