Precinct map
[edit]Do you know where to get a svg precinct map of Miami? 47.223.90.202 19:07, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
- I haven't found one as of yet, but you can check the Miami-Dade ArcGIS or the county supervisor of elections website. You'll probably need to convert an SHP to an SVG. ComradeRJGNV (talk) 17:02, 15 February 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Copyright status: File:Alina Garcia.jpg
This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:Alina Garcia.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

Jacksonville
[edit]Hey just curious why did you revert to the old Jacksonville mayoral map that doesn't use the standard colors? Putitonamap98 (talk) 02:16, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hey, I'm not a huge fan of the standard colors, the shades aren't gradual and the neon blue for the >90% Dem margins is terrible. I've never used the standard colors and it hasn't been a problem. Especially for a mayoral election, there aren't strong standards for how the map should look. Plus, for the first round Ferraro would need to be a different shade than what I used originally to fit the standard. ComradeRJGNV (talk) 03:43, 10 August 2023 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Belinda-noah-portrait-8007 (cropped).png. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Belinda-noah-portrait-8007 (cropped).png]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

2020 Democratic Primary colors
[edit]Hey, first of all I'd like to say that I appreciate the fact that you're the only person who made maps for the 2020 Democratic Presidential Primary that used proper coloration for each candidate instead of using dark blue for counties that Biden got 50% of the vote in just because it was the highest percentage he got in any county in the state. The hues are severely lopsided in most of the maps. (Example: 50% on your Missouri map is #678dd8, but another person's map has an unnecessarily dark color used for 50% Biden counties, like the Arkansas map, which has #2d56c2.) I used the colors you used for Biden to make my County and Municipality map of the 2024 New Hampshire Democratic Primary. I intend on creating a proper map of the entire 2020 Democratic Presidential primaries, similar to what I recently uploaded for the Republican Primaries in 2020. I'd like to ask if you have a list of the hex codes for the colors to use on each candidate so I can make something like that. I would appreciate it a lot. TheGrassWhistle (talk) 13:56, 30 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hey! I appreciate you reaching out because there are a LOT of coloring issues on this sight. I use the 2022 Wikipedia colors, which aren't technically recognized as 'official' yet, I think they look the best out of the available options. Here's the link for all the hex codes- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Elections_and_Referendums/USA_legend_colors/proposals. ComradeRJGNV (talk) 21:13, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
