Blocking
Hi Bull-Doser,
I don't know why I am defending you as you have never responded to any of my messages in the past (or listened to any of my or any other user's editing suggestions). However, I feel you are being unjustly targeted in a witch hunt and I will defend you because I feel (based on your defences regarding the en.wiki block) that you do not have any ability to do so for yourself. Yes, this sounds (and is) extremely elitist, but it is the truth nonetheless.
But, please—it is in your interests that you post a defence regarding Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by Bull-Doser. As you have been unduly blocked here without any real evidence, please just respond on your talk page. This is not looking good for you. It is obvious from the intensity of your edits that this project means a lot to you and I am sure you would feel bad if all your photos were to be deleted. I feel that project would be at a great loss as well, a view clearly shared by other editors such as Mr.choppers. If you would like to contact me privately, I have a Flickr account and you can private message me there. Otherwise, I have watchlisted your talk page and will receive any messages you post here.
Best regards, OSX (talk • contributions) 11:53, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
- Look, I have never had any copyright violations in my entire lifetime, and I have collected several smartphones/digital cameras thru recycling while planning to fix. Those are all typically my photo uploads. The unblock is typically fake. Can you please readjust my unblock? - Bull-Doser (talk) 13:04, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, I very much appreciate your response. Can you please explain in a greater detail the background/history regarding the recycling of smartphones/digital cameras that you speak of. This is of interest and may be of help to you. I am not an administrator and cannot formally change an outcome of a block but I am willing to work with you to have your account reinstated because I believe you have good intentions and are not guilty of copyright violations. OSX (talk • contributions) 13:28, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
- And just a few exceptions. The image of Pierre Pagé & Josée Boudreault belongs to him despite the fact I had used his Facebook with permission. Another is an image of my sister's of which she took back in July this year and I was forced to use her permission. - Bull-Doser (talk) 13:27, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
- I assume you are referring to File:Pierre Pagé et Josée Boudreault au Spa Bota.jpg? In this instance, you need WP:OTRS permission to correctly licence the file. {{PD-self}} is not a valid licence as I gather that you are not the photographer. I am sure your sister is nice enough and does not care if you use her image as I suppose you disclosed what you were doing with it to her. If you do repair smartphones/digital cameras this is going to help you defend yourself, and I would ask that you please provide additional details of this activity. OSX (talk • contributions) 13:35, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
- I am fine for two weeks of blocking. -- Bull-Doser (talk) 13:42, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
- This may be the case, but matters could deteriorate much further for you based on the current discussion (e.g. deletion of all your files or indefinite blocking). I ask again that you please provide more information about the recycling of smartphones/digital cameras (or any other piece of information that may assist your case). Please message me via my Flickr account if this is a private/confidential matter. I will NEVER disclose any personal information/circumstances to anyone else if this relates to your employment or personal life, et cetera. If you provide me with a reasonable explanation/defence, I will fiercely defend you with my all resources and energy. But you need to help me so I can help you. Thank you :) OSX (talk • contributions) 13:50, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
- I usually find free used smartphones/digital cameras from the recycle boxes found inside Rona, Staples, Best Buy & Target locations despite Target not having any Canadian footprint anymore. -- Bull-Doser (talk) 18:48, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
- That explains the quality of your photos... but yeah, I feel that this is an entirely insensible witch hunt. mr.choppers (talk)-en- 01:23, 2 September 2015 (UTC)
Well, since BD is communicating with us now the block can probably be removed. Provided that BD agrees not to upload anymore files until we get this sorted out? @Bull-Doser: Are you ok with that? --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 01:49, 2 September 2015 (UTC)
- Unblocked, --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 02:53, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Pierre Pagé et Josée Boudreault au Spa Bota.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Pierre Pagé et Josée Boudreault au Spa Bota.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

File:Aliose.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.) Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

- Maybe you could contact the Flickr member and ask them to licence it correctly for Wiki Common use... I have messaged the user for you. I will update you if they agree to change the licence. OSX (talk • contributions) 06:00, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
- The Flickr author has agreed to licence the file to a compatible licence. I have re-uploaded the file for you here: File:Aliose à Paléo 2011 (5976303822).jpg. Next time, please use Flickr-to-Commons to upload the file. Flickr-to-Commons will ensure that everything is kosher and will eliminate the licencing errors that can occur if uploaded manually. See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons, and Commons:Image casebook for some specific examples. Some other Wikimedia projects have different licensing policies. For example, the English Wikipedia allows fair use of sounds and photographs. This is not the case on Wikimedia Commons; "fair use" materials are not acceptable here.
Please make sure that you only upload educational content you have created yourself, those which are out of copyright, or those for which you have the required permission for the work to be used in all the ways described above. Please note that derivative works of copyrighted material are also considered copyrighted. Haze and blurriness on photographs
Hi there,
I notice a few of your recent uploads like this one seem to have a lot of "haze" in them. Since it's sunny and the haze doesn't increase with distance, it's a safe bet that it's a problem with grease or smudges on the lens. (This happens quite a lot with smartphone photos).
You can avoid this by making sure that the lens is clean using a non-abrasive or soft cloth (or cotton T-shirt!) The problem is *sometimes* fixable afterwards in Photoshop... but not always, and it'd be a shame if some potentially decent pictures had to deleted from Commons due to unfixable "blurriness."
Hope this helps, Ubcule (talk) 23:04, 3 November 2015 (UTC)
- That's my Samsung Galaxy with a ruined lens. -- Bull-Doser (talk) 05:14, 4 November 2015 (UTC)
- No problem... you probably know your own cameras better than I do :-) If you meant that the lens was ruined due to scratch damage on the surface or inside or whatever, that's understandable too. I mentioned the smartphone thing because at first guess that was the most likely cause and it was a shame that some otherwise usable photographs were getting ruined due to something I thought might have been easily fixed. All the best, Ubcule (talk) 20:43, 4 November 2015 (UTC)
Pictures from 2009
Hi! Please see link. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oldsmobile_98#/media/File:%2765_Oldsmobile_Ninety_Eight_(Orange_Julep).jpg
I wanted to know if you syill have the original pictures of this car because I bought one like this in August and I'm pretty sure it's the same car.
It would help if you had the front license number as it is still on my car. Also do you have any other pictures. It would help me build a file for my car.
Thanks

Assuming the identity of FlickreviewR
In this edit it looks like you're assuming the identity of the User:FlickreviewR robot, and posting that your image was reviewed; when it wasn't. The good news is that File:Allie X, Christopher Bartos, Jeff Morrow, & Todor Kobakov.jpg is in fact properly licensed at Flickr, and I can so stamp it as a License Reviewer. And I looked around at a few other files you uploaded, and didn't find that same problem. So presumably this was a one time accident. But I'd like to draw your attention to it, so it doesn't happen again. Thanks. Oh, and thanks for the image, it's a great photo, and I plan to add it to a Wikipedia article soon!--GRuban (talk) 22:20, 11 January 2016 (UTC)

It involves an issue (permission relating to images taken from other people's Facebook pages) that may affect a number of other third party images you uploaded around that time. If we could resolve that before any of the other images had to be nominated, that would be great. All the best, Ubcule (talk) 15:45, 17 January 2016 (UTC)

Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:`09-`10 Subaru Forester.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Tuned Nissan 180SX -- Rear (Driftmania '09).jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |
