Wikimedia requires that all content to be free to reuse for anyone.
The only restrictions that is ever put under content at Wikimedia
sites, is that credit has to be given where credit is due, and that if
anyone makes changes to the media, people must be able to do the same
thing with the modified version. A copyleft/share-alike license gives
every person who receives a copy of the work permission to reproduce,
adapt or distribute the work as long as any resulting copies or
adaptations are also bound by the same copyleft/share-alike license.
If you granted permission, I would only upload them to Wikimedia
sites, but it is entirely possible others will see the image and use
them in other places. Would you be willing to allow everyone to use
the images under the conditions of a share-alike/copyleft license?

I went looking in OTRS and was unable to find a ticket that would fit this, but I did find a previous ticket relating to a permission that Pam Roth gave... it was OTRS ticket 2007050210013826, closed by User:Yonatanh, which applied to Image:Eagle and American Flag by Bubbels.jpg... I'd suggest asking her nicely again. However since this contributor has given permissions before, perhaps a forward and a reference to the previous ticket might be sufficient. Some user uploaded this, but he doesnt say where he gets it from only it is from 1865. But where did he get image? Did he scan it from photo exibition? if so when and where? it should be personal work. Or, if from book where?

Well, I would like to know why the picture I did of a black hole have been removed. It is said that it have been removed for Copiright Violation but I created this pic. I can't violate my own copyrignt... I just don't get it... o.O

OTRS

Just a question, do you read the entire correspondence of OTRS permission emails (to get the context of the discussion) or just the final reply? Because you just "denied" at least six of my permission requests which have already been logged as okay in the OTRS system by another admin. PageantUpdater 09:20, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Nazgul image needs to be removed from here

Image:Witch King of Angmar.jpg was released under the GFDL and is used on English and Spanish Wikipedias, but since it's a derivative work (movie-based to boot), it can't stay here in Commons. I assume it's fine for Wikipedias only? Uthanc 09:59, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi, Bryan, I think your deletion of Image:SingaporeStone-colourphoto.jpg from the Commons was a mistake. You gave the reason "Wikipedia use only", which I take to mean that you believe that the copyright owner only licensed the photograph for use on Wikipedia. But that is not the case – you can see from my e-mail correspondence with them, which was reproduced on the talk page of the image, that I requested that the copyright owner license the photograph under the GFDL. Flickr upload bot problems

The flickr upload bot appears to have problems too, in case you're not aware. I have pasted the error message that I get:

Commons delinker error

Your bot wrote that Image:100 0774.JPG was replaced by Image:Blintz frying.jpg. Actually, it should be the other way around. The first image is my original upload, and the second does not properly cite attribution and is lower resolution. I don't know why this happened, but you might want to figure it out. Misschien moeten we proberen een patch in MediaWiki te krijgen om in de database aan te geven of media echt in de pagina zelf staat, of er via een sjabloon in terecht is gekomen.
