Previously published photos
[edit]Hello Anna N Chapman, thanks for your recent contribution to Commons of some very nice photos of insects! I noticed that several of your recently uploaded photos have EXIF information that indicates they were previously published as Getty Images / iStockphoto rights-controlled photos by AnnaNicola:
- File:1Honey-Bee-Crown-Daisy.jpg,
- File:2Honey-Bee-Salt-Cedar.jpg,
- File:3 Carpocoris mediterraneus.jpg,
- File:4Honey-Bee.jpg.
As works previously published elsewhere with a non-free license, Commons asks that permission be sent to the Volunteer Response Team. Given the similarity between your user name and the photographer's name, you might reasonably be thinking "But it's my own work!" It is unfortunately very common for users to upload other people's photographs that they downloaded from the internet with a claim that they are the original photographer, so in these circumstances we ask uploaders email a license release to the Commons volunteers at COM:VRT to confirm the new free licenses on Commons. Please let me know if you have any questions. —RP88 (talk) 02:14, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
