Thank you for your contributions. Your image or other content, File:Adminmop-no.gif, was recently deleted, or will soon be deleted, in accordance with our process and policies, because it was not, or is not, within our scope. Please review our project scope, but in short, Commons is targeted at educational media files including photographs, diagrams, animations, music, spoken text and video clips. The expression “educational” is to be understood according to its broad meaning of “providing knowledge; instructional or informative”. Wikimedia Commons does not contain text articles like encyclopedia articles, textbooks, news, word definitions and such. Each of these other kinds of content have their own projects: Wikipedia, Wikibooks, Wikisource, Wikinews, Wiktionary and Wikiquote. If the content seems to fit the scope of one of those other projects, please consider contributing it there. Otherwise, consider an alternative outlet. If you think that the deletion was in error because the contribution really was in scope, you can appeal it at Commons:Undeletion requests, giving a reason why it fits our scope to help others evaluate the matter. Thank you for your understanding.

What part of project scope does it not meet? I WAS an administrator when I uploaded that file. I AM an administrator on other wikis. I have nothing against administrators.

RFA

[edit]

Just so you know, I would happily support you in a new RFA. -mattbuck (Talk) 15:36, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey! Thanks for the vote of confidence.

File:Wikipedia for World Heritage logo en.png

[edit]

Hi there, do you still wish to delete File:Wikipedia for World Heritage logo en.png? I saw that the template on meta is not changed yet, and I have no idea what to do to fix that :/ --Ben.MQ (talk) 03:46, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There are two possible outcomes. 1) Rename logos in Category:Wikipedia for World Heritage to follow Wikipedia for World Heritage logo xx.png naming scheme or 2) deleting it. I'd prefer a rename but I don't know how difficult it would be to pull that off.
I'm not sure if moving the file (with redirect behind) will affect any direct link to the image? If not I guess we can move straightway, otherwise maybe create unified redirect names... --Ben.MQ (talk) 04:59, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Move could be done with User:CommonsDelinker/commands followed by an actual image move here on commons. Images like "Wiki AL French.png" would be moved to "Wikipedia for World Heritage logo fr.png" etc. This would replace the file on all wikis. Queue seems empty so bot will be responsive to new commands.
I moved all, except the 3 Thai images because none of them are used anywhere and I'm not sure which should be used. --Ben.MQ (talk) 06:56, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This is great. :) Thank you! On a side note, do you think you can get more translations of the logo in many languages?
Not sure what do you mean... For Chinese I can help translate, but I have no knowledge in image making so I cannot make a logo for Chinese versions, sadly... (I have this talk page on watchlist so you can simply reply here) --Ben.MQ (talk) 12:01, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, we need to perhaps generate a text based translation of the image first and then an artist or two could mass apply it. I am already working on the translation of m:Main Page/en so I would appreciate any help I can get.
