Template sandbox

[edit]

If there is a sandbox for tests in the commons template namespace please add an info where that is. –Be..anyone (talk) 16:59, 15 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Upload tests

[edit]

{{Edit protected}}I guess this could be mentioned Category:Test uploads. (I couldn't find any related page explaining its function more elaborately.) Palosirkka (talk) 06:02, 9 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

 Not done Sandbox get's deleted, categories will be gone. --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 04:14, 2 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

__NOINDEX__

[edit]

{{Editprotected}} I don't see any reason for this (and Commons:Sandbox) to be indexed by search engines. Also, in case an user places copyrighted content in the sandbox, the copyrighted content (and the sandbox) will not be seen in search engines (to prevent accusation of copyright violation). I want to place the __NOINDEX__ magic word in this template because if __NOINDEX__ is placed in the sandbox, it will be removed automatically by Hazard-Bot. Thank you. Poké95 06:44, 8 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

 Not done I don't think there are any concerns regarding copyrighted content in the sandbox, as the contents are automatically deleted by a bot quite frequently. As the much higher profile EN.WP doesn't worry about its sandbox being indexed, I don't see any reason for us to worry. Also, the sandbox needs to be findable by inexperienced users. Placing __NOINDEX__ on the sandbox would result in the Sandbox being unfindable with queries like "Commons Sandbox" on Google and other internet search engines. I realize that more experienced editors might find the idea of searching the entire internet to find a page on Commons as silly, but it's surprisingly commons for less experienced editors to not know how to find pages on Commons without using a generic internet search engine. —RP88 (talk) 04:54, 9 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Vertical spacing

[edit]

{{Protectededit}} Please tighten up the vertical spacing so that the template doesn't appear any lower than necessary when transcluded.   — Jeff G. ツ 14:06, 18 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @Jeff G.: , I removed several double inclusions of the shortcut template (on the lang subpages). Maybe I see what you mean but this seems normal and not to fix with an extra element. -- User: Perhelion 23:15, 19 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Perhelion: I would have the template start as follows all on one line (sans nowiki and quotes): "<includeonly>{{shortcut|COM:SAND|COM:SB}}</includeonly><noinclude>{{sandbox/lang}}</noinclude>{{autotranslate|base=Sandbox}}". Thank you for all your help, should I just ping you or write on your user talk page when I see a need for an edit to a protected page?   — Jeff G. ツ 23:28, 19 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No let it as it is as general procedure (as other should see it and I'm only always online :P) This is not working. There is a "contentSub" element between , which makes the spacing, but this comes from MediaWiki itself. -- User: Perhelion 23:44, 19 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
✓ Done@Jeff G.: I could remove few pixel, ok!? (removed the section element p) -- User: Perhelion 00:13, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Perhelion: Ok, thanks!   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 20:54, 16 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
