According to the images, Dr. Heiko Metzner (Burghaslach, Jan 03 2008) pointed out the following citation:

'However, another salticid builds a dense sheet web. Pellenes arcigerus, from southern France, builds a large silk sheet in the vegetation. The predatory behavior of this species has not been studied, but the large web it spins is probably used as a prey-capture device.' [JACKSON, R.R. & POLLARD, S.D. (1996): Predatory behaviour of jumping spiders. - Annu. Rev. Entomol. 41: 287-308.]

The original source seems to be: LOPEZ, A. (1986): Construction de toiles en 'Voile de bataeu' par une araignee salticide languedocine. - Bull. Soc. Arch. Beziers 2: 65-68.
