SVG magnifier

Please change [[File:Magnify-clip.png| to [[File:Magnify-clip (sans arrow).svg|14px|. Please also protect File:Magnify-clip (sans arrow).svg against reuploading before the change, as this is a main page image, but will not be constantly cascade-protected (only when there is media of the day, so a vandal can upload something when there’s no MOTD, and it will appear on the main page when there is one). Protection against editing is not necessary, as the file description page is not linked (the MOTD’s description page is linked instead). Problems playing the file?

Thumbtime doesn't work on Main page

See today's Main page – the configured thumbtime doesn't work but it does work at Template:Motd/2024-07-15 and COM:MOTD. Why is that – please fix it. I think this template is used for it. I meant to post this at Template talk:Motd, maybe that would be the better place to ask about it. Prototyperspective (talk) 15:31, 15 July 2024 (UTC)

The three use three independent implementations (the main page uses this, COM:MOTD uses {{Motd}}, and Template:Motd/2024-07-15 uses {{Motd filename helper}}), just for fun. As far as I can decipher the code, the problem is that this implementation omits thumbtime=, i.e. it uses [[File:Ikusgela-Euskal_herritarrak_Frantziako_Tourrean.webm|0]] instead of [[File:Ikusgela-Euskal_herritarrak_Frantziako_Tourrean.webm|thumbtime=0]]. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 17:28, 16 July 2024 (UTC)

Yes, but that isn't the case for all videos since the chosen thumbnail is rather accidental so the capability to specify the thumbtime should work. Moreover, if it doesn't work there shouldn't be advanced options for it. Please somebody get the thumbtime working again. Prototyperspective (talk) 10:59, 19 July 2024 (UTC)

is rather nonsensical and should be:

What is this page about?

@RZuo, 4nn1l2, Jarould, Jdx, Jarekt, Mdaniels5757, and Ebrahim: What is this page about? Technically it is a gallery page. But it shows only one file, and then for me it is not a gallery page that presents readers with a structured and meaningful collection of media (purpose of a Commons gallery page). I tend to make a deletion request for it, but first I would like to have an answer, because it has a long history with lots of changes. JopkeB (talk) 09:49, 2 August 2024 (UTC)

JopkeB, as Geohakkeri said this, and Main Page/potd are templates, which for historical reasons are not in template namespace. Before 2013 Main Page did not use Template:Main Page Template but did use those 2 subpages. When Template:Main Page Template was added, we did not change that basic structure and just kept calling Main Page/potd and Main Page/motd from the template and while making them more and more template like. Perhaps it might be a good idea to move those 2 pages to proper namespace. It makes no difference in performance but is a bit more clear. --Jarekt (talk) 21:00, 4 August 2024 (UTC)

Normally I rename files, galleries and categories myself, but this looks next level, too tricky/risky, more for someone who is used to work with templates, has an overview of what should be done and how the involved pages are intertwined.
