Can info under college notice acceptable for wiki citation?

Hello, I recently uploaded PDF file (HITK clubs.pdf) for the citation of my college clubs list in the Heritage Institute of technology, Kolkata article. So, the PDF I uploaded can it be used as a citation for the same? HridoyKundu (talk) 18:38, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@HridoyKundu: You don't need to upload images of sources you want to cite in a English Wikipedia article. English Wikipedia doesn't require sources cited in article be available online; it only requires that they be en:Wikipedia:Reliable sources (as defined by English Wikipedia). Moreover, such images like the PDF file you uploaded may be eligible for copyright protection regardless of whether they are considered reliable sources and uploading them to Commons could be considered a copyright violation. Why do you think the file you uploaded is OK to be license as {{cc-by-sa-2.5}}? You don't seem to have created the list yourself (you've attributed it to "Basab Chaudhuri (Principal of Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata)") and receiving a copy of the list via email doesn't mean it's not eligible for copyright protection and doesn't make you its copyright holder. Did you just choose a random license when you uploaded this file? Does it clearly state somewhere in the email your received or in the PDF itself that the list is released under a "cc-by-sa-2.5" license? Perhaps the file is OK for Commons, and only needs to be relicensed; it's hard, though, to determine that without knowing more information about the email you received. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:35, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Possibility to host some old Vietnamese songs

I have a small playlist on YouTube with traditional/patriotic Vietnamese songs, but I have no idea if they are copyrighted, an example of old Vietnamese patriotic music would be "Rừng xanh vang tiếng Ta Lư (Phương Nam) - Thúy Hà (1967)", which was posted there in 2022 by Vu Thanh, would he have to post the songs here or are he and I unable to post this on Commons? 實際 (talk) 21:50, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@實際: In general it is part of the job of the uploader to work out the copyright status. We would need both the underlying song and the particular performance to be either public domain or free-licensed.

My Image File wont upload

@JillianSkyeJewett I am not really an expert in uploading but no one has replied thus far. Is there a particular error message popping up? Is the file showing up at Special:UploadStash? The file name you were trying to upload has been blacklisted because it is very common, uninformative, or spelled in ALLCAPS. Please go back and choose a better file name. When uploading files to Wikimedia Commons, please use a file name that describes the content of the image or media file you're uploading and is sufficiently distinctive that no-one else is likely to pick the same name by accident.

Password change problem

Last night, I was emailed that someone had logged in to my account from a new device, an action I did not do. I have tried to change my password on the page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:ChangePassword multiple times. But when I click the blue "Change Credentials" button, it just brings me back to that same page, without any confirmation that my password was changed. As a result, I cannot change my password. Can you please fix this? I'm concerned that whoever logged in to my account last night can possibly lock me out. Thank you in advance for your help. @Davidchaple5: most school logos aren't eligible for Commons, because they are copyrighted either by the person who designed the logo or by the school, and the owner of the copyright won't issue a free license. However, some are old enough or simple enough to be in the public domain. If you can link a page showing the logo in question, someone can probably tell you whether the particular logo is eligible (though if it is a tricky case you are more likely to get an answer at Commons:Village pump/Copyright).

Photos: if you took them yourself, and they fall within Commons' scope, you can upload them just like any other photos. For beginners, I usually recommend Commons:UploadWizard. - Jmabel ! talk 14:26, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you are concerned about copyright AND thre is an artcile about your school on Wikipedia, then upload it as a non-free image on WIkipedia and incorporate it into the article. Uploading a photograph taken of a town in Iraq that was posted on an Iraqi Facebook page -- as well as general info regarding photos taken in Iraq

Hello, there is a photograph of a town in Iraq i would like to upload. The photo was published to an Iraqi Facebook page and it is the only instance of this photograph I could find on the internet. There is no information presented regarding who took the picture and when.

Are photos taken in Iraq & posted on Facebook okay to be uploaded & added to a Wikipedia page? I read this article -- en:Wikipedia:Using foreign images on Wikipedia -- but it wasn't very clear if images published in Iraq have copyright.

Hi Parzillum. You'll find more details about this in Commons:Copyright rules by subject matter#Internet images, but generally every photo you find online that you didn't take yourself is not going to be OK to upload to Commons unless you can obtain the COM:CONSENT of its copyright holder. In general, the person who takes a photo is considered its copyright holder, and it's this person's consent that Commons needs. Many websites host photos taken by others and many people upload photos to websites that they didn't take themselves; so, it can often be tricky to figure out the en:provenance of a photo found online. While such things might be OK for other websites, it's not OK for Commons. So, if you unable to determine who actually took the photo, you could try asking whoever operates the website if they know, or you could try a en:reverse image search using something like en:TinEye to figure out its provenance. If you're still unable to find out more information about its provenance, you probably should look for a different photo whose copyright status might be easier to verify. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:44, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you can't figure out the provenance as Marchjuly explains, another option could be to request for a Wikimedian to take a new, freely licensed photo. If it is an English Wikipedia article place the {{Photo requested}} on the article's talk page. Instead, on Commons we have Commons:File requests. Good luck. Derivative works, confusion

From reading the FAQ and help pages, my understanding is that an unembellished photo of an artwork (eg: a contemporary artist's sculpture) is considered a derivative work and cant be uploaded here. Yet I've seen a number of photos of art that have only a CC license from the photographer. Are those photos not supposed to be here? Can I not use them in Wikipedia? Thanks! @Tsavage: Derivative works can be uploaded to Commons, but there at least two (and sometimes more) copyrights that need to be taken into account. Many countries do this for you by adding freedom of panorama provisions to their respective copyright laws in which the country states that publicly displayed works of art (2D or 3D) may be freely photographed without worrying about infringing on the copyright of the artist who created the work. Some countries, however, do place restrictions of such photographs and give precedence to the rights of the artist over the rights of the photographer. For this reason, many of the photos of statues or sculptures you find on Commons are of works either located in countries which allow such photographs to be freely taken or are of works that are no longer eligible or never were considered eligible for copyright protection for some reason. Ideally, a file such a this should have two licenses (one for the photo and one for the photographed work), but unfortunately the latter is often not provided because many people just seem to assume the photo is the only thing eligible for copyright protection.

Of course, you will, if you look hard enough, find photos of copyright works that shouldn't have been uploaded to Commons in the first place, and these files end up being discussed and sometimes deleted when they're found; however, finding them isn't always that easy and usually a bit of luck is involved. You often see this with Flickr images uploaded to Commons because most people and most bots automatically assume the Flickr license is all that matters when it comes to Commons regardless of whether it's correct. Anyway, if you come across one of these and know enough the add the missing license, feel free to do so. If not, you could always ask about it here.

Finally, using Commons photos on Wikipedia should, in principle, be OK because Commons is only supposed to host files that are licensed in accordance with COM:L and en:WP:COPY#Guidelines for images and other media files; however, you probably should avoid using anything that you strongly suspect of being incorrectly licensed (either by mistake or by intent) basically for the reasons given in en:WP:COPYLINK. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:52, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Practical confusion cleared up! For my own curiosity as to "how things work", say there's a photo of a publicly displayed statue, taken in a freedom of panorama country, uploaded by the photographer with a CC license but no artist license (citing the panorama provision), and used as-is in an en.Wikipedia article, and a copyright dispute somehow arises. @Tsavage: In many cases on en.wikipedia, a photo of a sculpture would be used in an article about the sculpture itself or about the sculptor and the photo would be used with substantial commentary about that sculpture or about the style of the sculptor. That would be a "fair use" of the sculpture and there would be no dispute if the sculpture is not misleadingly presented as freely usable (the file description would display a "non-free use" tag). In contrast, your question poses a case where en.wikipedia (or Commons) would use a photo of a copyrighted sculpture without any context that could justify its use. Then a copyright complaint can come from whoever owns or manages the copyright of that sculpture, for example the sculptor or an agency that manages the copyright for the sculptor. Several paths of action are available to them to demand remedy. One possibility is that the copyright holder sends a takedown notice to Wikimedia and then the remedy is that Wikimedia deletes the photo. You can have a look at this example. The discussion has probably more than you wanted to know about that topic and about the incongruities of Commons. @Jeff G. and Tsavage: as far as I know, there is no case law about a sculpture that is still in copyright in the U.S., that is photographed in a country other than the U.S., is covered by Freedom of Panorama in that country, and is then published in the U.S. It is perfectly possible that a court could rule that such publication would violate U.S. copyright law.

We definitely do not have a firmly decided policy on whether such images are acceptable for Commons. We have more of a de facto approach:

We allow such images on Commons, despite the possibility that they might eventually be deemed to be violation of U.S. copyright law.
Any time we receive a DMCA notice for such an image (I'm only aware of one such case, though; multiple images, but one sculpture), we delete the image.

There are definitely a few users who object strongly to the former as skating on thin ice in terms of U.S. copyright law. My assumption is that if WMF Legal thought it was a serious risk, they'd have told us by now. Conversely, it is very likely that we would have at least a minor rebellion from de-wiki in particular if we were to change this approach: to them, FoP is pretty much a given. - Jmabel ! talk 17:53, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Tsavage: The various language Wikipedias and Commons are separate projects with their own respective policies, guidelines and communities. Since Commons is mainly concerned about the copyright status of the content it hosts, the file you seem to be describing is most likely going to be OK to keep for the reasons given above by Jmabel. Whether that file ultimately ends up being used in some Wikipedia article, however, depends on that Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and how its community wants to apply them. For example. any file found on Commons should, in principle, be OK to add to an English Wikipedia article, but image use isn't automatic and often is determined by local consensus. Sometimes the local consensus is to not use an image regardless of what's happening here on Commons. A recent example of this, for reference, can be found here involving a local consensus established here. So, if you come across an image like the one describing and you think it shouldn't be used, you can be en:WP:BOLD or en:WP:CAUTIOUS. If you're bold and someone adds it back, you're probably going to need to sort things out through discussion on the article's talk page or at en:WP:FFD. Before you're bold, though, you might want to check the article's page history and the file's page history to see whether its use had been previously discussed. If a consensus has already been established that the image is OK to use, then it's probably better to be cautious and seek a new consensus to remove it. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:22, 31 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I submitted the image of the leaflet and got the message below but I don't understand what I need to do. Do I need to need to provide a valid copyright tag because it's my photo of the leaflet, I.e do I need to add {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}}? I'm really struggling to understand the jargon and to know what to do to put it right! (P.S. Printed in UK)

@HandyRecorder: Hi, (n.b.: in your question, I replaced the full display of all the templates with a simple link to the message. It makes the question easier to read.) Considering that you took your own photo of a work that you did not create, the warning message may indeed be unclear on this point for a first-time user. In a case like this, the answer is no, you must not use a "self" licence, because it is considered that the simple photographic reproduction of a work does not generate a copyright. However, you must use a template that indicates the present copyright status of the original leaflet. In this case, an acceptable template could probably be PD-UK-unknown. @HandyRecorder: After taking a better look at the description, I note that the leaflet shows an illustration of an artwork (doll house) whose author died in 1933. An additional template could be added for that artwork, such as {{PD-old-auto|deathyear=1933}}. Also, although both the artwork and the leaflet are not copyrighted anymore in the UK, they might be still copyrighted in the United States (please see there), which places such files in a precarious situation on Commons. -- Asclepias (talk) 15:14, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If we know the publication date was no later than 1933, then even in the worst case it will be OK in the U.S. in 2029 (1933 + 95 + 1). We might have to delete it for a few years and restore it then. The odds are enormous that the photographer was still alive in 1954, so it would presumably still be copyrighted in the UK. Also, assuming it was immediately published (distribution of numerous copies would count) it would be copyrighted in the U.S. through 2044. So I don't think we can allow it without tracking down the photographer's heirs and getting their permission. It is basically an orphaned work. - Jmabel ! talk 18:05, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@MarkWHowe: I'm not sure exactly what you are asking, because I think you've got a false premise there somewhere.

The files are stored on WMF's servers. meta:Wikimedia servers#Hosting gives a rundown of where those are located.
Each file has a file page, that can be referred to either by a URL and can be accessed by an "internal link" here on the wiki. For example, your uploaded picture of Isaac B. Howe at age 31 is at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Isaac_B._Howe_1858_at_age_31.jpg; a version intended for mobile devices is at https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Isaac_B._Howe_1858_at_age_31.jpg; but if you are referring to it on Commons, you would normally use an internal link: File:Isaac B. Howe 1858 at age 31.jpg (go into edit mode to see what that looks like) which will resolve appropriately for both a PC and a mobile device.
You can find all of your uploads at Special:ListFiles/MarkWHowe. You can get to that page by clicking the "uploads" link on any page while you are logged in. For most skins, that is near the upper right of your browser screen. You can also (while logged in) get to that page by navigating to the URL https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:MyUploads.

How do you change what goes in the author line for an image?

This is the image that I am referring to. This is my own photo that I uploaded.

I want to change what it says in the author section of the summary for this image. Currently it just says my account name and a link to my page. I was wondering if it would be possible to change what it says in this line so that I can add my actual name and then also have my wikipedia page link next to it. Please help, I am very confused after trying to figure out how to do this myself. using the source editor.

Problem with text in vector image (made manually in Inkscape)

Greetings. Recently I have uploaded this file to Commons, but after I did it I noticed that there is a mistake in the image, where a text appears in the wrong place. However, the file on my device shows the correct placing of the text, and if I click the image in Commons, it shows how it's supposed to look like. Why is this error happening? New Here - Need guidance about uploading own photos (that do appear elsewhere)

Hi, I work with ABC News and have a portfolio available online. I have just uploaded a photo to kind of test the waters about what I can/cannot upload. The photo I uploaded appears on the Disney website (Available here: https://www.dgepress.com/abcnews/search/149938_148CR.jpg/) but it is freely licensed with attribution.

The photo I uploaded, could it be used on Wikipedia (which is what I want) or does it violate some policy?

A mate of mine recorded a video of him pointing to other people dressed as Spider-Man (like the meme) this video. I asked him to put proof on his user page and told him people would be able to do anything with it and he was fine with it but he didn't read commons license 4 I sent him. Yes, I'm afraid "your just gonna haft to believe me" is not good enough - when uploading copyrighted or copyrightable works that you did not create yourself, Commons needs proof that the original author/copyright holder explicitly agrees to free license the work. PDF book preview does not work

After clearing the cache, the PDF media player shows the book, but when I scroll forward 4-5 times, the media player crashes. Then I have to clear the cache again and the book is shown again when I scroll forward, after 3-4 pages it crashes again. The whole thing repeats itself endlessly.

I consulted this thread but it was not helpful (Commons:Help desk/Archive/2024/10#PDF book preview does not work).

As a native speaker, you can use en-US as language code. For different levels of proficiency, it's en-US-1 to en-US-5, though I guess non-native speakers wouldn't differentiate between British, American or other English. When I tried to type in the Caption box nothing was happening. I did not release that I had to select ENGLISH to activate the box. I finally did solve that. The photograph I uploaded is a photograph that I shot in 1986 of a sculpture by Bonnie Rychlak. She asked me to upload the photo to Wikipedia for the page about her. Uploading photographs which I personally own

I am experiencing huge and seemingly intractable difficulty in trying to do what seems like it should be really straightforward. Perhaps I am doing something wrong but I cannot find any way around it. _______________________

I am the owner of a lot of old photographs taken for me at my request by friends. They have never been published anywhere before and I now want to upload some of them to wikimedia commons as public domain graphics.

I answered truthfully your questions as hereunder:

(1) This is someone else's work and is free to share. (2) I am then expected to know whether it is published under a free license or if its copyright has expired and what Creative Commons license this work was published under. I answered truthfully again that I don't have this information. As I have said, it has never been published under ANY license. (3) Alternatively, I can say that this work is not protected by copyright law and hence has no associated license. But then I am asked to enter a different license in wikitext format? How can I enter a `different' license it if has NO license at all? (4) I am then asked where I `found' the work. I again truthfully reply that the two photographs I am trying to upload are among several taken for me at my request by a personal friend (Mr Ronald Jones, sadly long deceased). It was clearly understood that from the beginning I owned the photographs (they were taken on MY camera) and could use them for any appropriate purpose, that I have subsequently edited both to crop and add names etc. and that I wish them to become public domain images. I also confirmed that the work does not include material restricted by copyright, such as logos, posters, cover art, etc.

At the end of all this I am repeatedly told that there is one error with the form above and that I must correct the error and try submitting again.

After re-reading: unless you are very old (like, considerably older than me, and I'm about to turn 70) it is a near-certainty that any previously unpublished picture taken in your lifetime remains copyrighted. (There are a few countries where that isn't entirely true, and you don't say what country you are in; if you provide that information, someone can say something more definitive.) Barring very unusual circumstances, that copyright would belong to the photographer or (in the case of the late Mr. Jones) the heir to the photographer's intellectual property. If you are in touch with that person, they can go through the process outlined at COM:VRT to grant permission. You might take this to Commons:Village pump/Copyright for more expert opinion, but I believe that in the UK there is no way to orally transfer copyright. If you don't know who the photographer's heir was, you are probably stuck in the infamous "orphaned work" situation: there is a copyright, but you don't have any way to work out who owns it, so you have no way to get permission. - Jmabel ! talk 20:25, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

SVG display

I recently uploaded an SVG file here. I checked it with https://validator.w3.org/ and it says the file is okay, but the image is not displaying correctly. When I visit the image page as linked, the five black half-characters on the yellow field display as half-asterisks, stars, etc. However, when I click the image to see the file directly, it displays just fine. First off, thanks for your contribution. Secondly, when I view the image directly, it is still malformed, just in a different way. :/ Third, while almost all SVGs seem to render correctly, sometimes they seem to not and sometimes that only is a problem with thumbnails and not when viewed directly or embedded into a page for some weird reason. Unfortunately, I personally am not smart enough to figure out what's going on and there may be nothing we can do here, so it may be necessary to file a bug at phab:. I give this semi-answer just in case no one else actually solves the problem in a timely fashion and you can at least have a next step to follow and aren't left hanging. Given the text is unlikely to change or need translation you could convert text to paths in your svg editor and see if that fixes it. About 16 years ago I had that issue with Mediawiki renderer. @Justin (koavf), @Commander Keane - I've edited the file. There were indeed letter characters still in the file. I've converted them to paths so the problem should be resolved, but the file still looks weird. The dingbats are gone, but the file still looks like the one Justin (koavf) edited, where the letters do not line up correctly. When I view the file's page, the bottom half of the lettering still looks fine, but the top half is a thinner font. If I click the image itself to view the bare file, it appears correctly. Uploading my old photos

Many years ago, a friend took some pics of me with my band because obviously we couldn't take them ourselves! I gave him my camera and he took the photos which were for use in publicity, posters, articles, etc. Now, after more than 50 years, I have tried to upload a couple to Wiki Commons as public domain but am told I need to get his permission. Firstly he and his wife died a long time ago so that's not possible but more to the point, I had his permission from the start. He agreed to take the pics for me to use. Nobody asks their friends to put their permission in writing! This is crazy surely - their must be a countless number of photos on Wiki taken by friends in exactly this way and none of them will have anything in writing. Please advise. Your friend probably has heirs. They can jointly issue a licence and send it to the Permissions Team. If there are no heirs, the state is the heir. In principle, the state as the heir could grant permission. However, I am not aware of such a case. The only thing to do then is to wait until the images become public domain. In many jurisdictions, this is the case 70 years after death, but the period can also be shorter or longer.

If you know that there are one or more images here for which there is no authorisation from the author and which are not in the public domain, you can submit a deletion request. The images will then be deleted and restored 70 years after the author's death. If the date of death is unknown, then 100 years after publication.

Airai Bai photos

Hello, I'd like to upload a photo of the Airai Bai, located in Palau, onto Wikimedia Commons. The structure was built in 1890, which I believe should make it public domain according to this page, but the structure was renovated around 1974-1976 to restore it to the original look. Does that renew the copyright on the structure? Palau also does not have freedom of panorama, but I believe if the 1890 date takes precedence over the 1970s dates, then it shouldn't matter since the building would be in the public domain anyway. Is it possible to show a video in Wikipedia with subtitles from a w:WebVTT file? What would be the wikitext?

This would allow:

a video in Afrikaans to be subtitled in Afrikaans
and in German with a different VTT file
and in English with a different VTT file
and in... whatever language.

I cannot delete the creation date from jpg.

I want to make photos and videos available on Commons but only without the creation date that seems to be added by the camera. On a folder full of jpg I have used a tool to delete all exif data. But in Windows10, for example, after right-clicking on Properties under both the "Allgemein->Geändert" and "Details->Änderungsdatum" tabs, the creation date is still listed. Although the description of the deletion tool states that everything treacherous is deleted, this feature has obviously been forgotten. This entry cannot be removed under Windows either. Which tool can I use to remove all references to the creation date from all jpg files in a folder, even from the Windows tabs described above? Allowed licenses on pictures

Are headshots fair use? I need to replace someone's picture, I believe his headshots are protected by licenses, but which ones are okay for Wikipedia use if a photographer allows me to use it? Also, by "allows me" does that just mean he gives me verbal/written permission? Or do I need something more serious. @Nslms24 Commons accepts no "fair use", and en-WP does not for living people. The picture has to be shown to be published with a license acceptable on Commons, see Commons:Licensing#Well-known licenses. Photo uploaded and inserted, but it does not appear

I inserted a photo portrait of myself, following all the steps for insertion of a .jpg, but it did not appear in my story.

When I tried again, the system responded that the photo file had already been uploaded and saved in the system.

How can I find the .jpg and get it to show up?

I suggest a thumbnail image that represents the identity and culture of the Komti community. Ideally, this would be an image of a symbol, event, or individual that members widely recognize and identify with today.

Komtis are a community historically associated with both Telugu and Odia languages, with Telugu being more commonly spoken today. Hello.

I am writing an article about a cafe and asked on Twitter if anyone had a photo available for the article, and the cafe owner's account uploaded photos to Twitter as available photos.

I am not certain of my understanding of the license and would like to be sure.

I remember that in such a case, the photo can be used if I ask the owner to state the license in the form of a direct link to the photo, such as "I release the above photo under CC BY-SA 4.0 license".

I disagree with Yann here. If it's a public-facing tweet, that should be fine. The only possible problem is if it is not entirely clear that the cafe owner owns the copyright to the photos, in which case you would want them to assert that as well. Category:Poisons needs a bit of help

Hi, I came across this category which needs a bit of sorting out, but I don't know enough about it so hoping this will help. Specifically: toxin vs poison - and substances under each category. Also: naming of Category:Poisoning (murder) isn't the best seeing that Category:Poisoning doesn't exist. Someone created Category:Criminal poisoning which makes sense to me but I redirected for the moment as it had 1 file in it. Perhaps that would be better as it can include poisoning of animals? And what about accidental poisoning such as lead poisoning? Anyway, hoping there's someone out there that has a vision for this category :). YouTube video screenshot?

Hi, I'm looking to update the photo of Oliver Stark as the photo is 13 years old and not very accurate of his looks today. I have 2 options but I am unsure if they can be used. 1 is from the Zach Sang Show on YouTube (however the logo of the show is visible on the microphone) and the other is from a Family Feud clip uploaded by the official channel. Hi Olivergrandeee, if the YouTube video of Zach Sang Show is licensed under Creative Commons and the logo on the microphone is minor and not significant, it may be uploaded to Commons. If the other photo from Family Feud channel is also from YouTube, it also needs to be licensed under Creative Commons to be uploaded here. If it's not from YT, it needs to be licensed under an acceptable license before being uploded to Commons. Only videos with a clear CC BY license on YouTube qualify. Pages are only created if the subject is notable. If a lot of news sources and journalists begin talking about you, only then can you warrant a page on Wikipedia. Famous does not always equal notable. For example, my favorite show BFDI, is popular, but it does not get its page since it does not have news sources talking about it and the only ones that exist only reference it in a minor way, or are AI generated. A lost song's artists were found recently and identified as "FEX". They have their own page on Wikipedia. However, their infobox remains image-less. Looks like it falls under Template:PD-textlogo to me, so I say go for it. See File:Enhanced Games logo.jpg or File:Kiss Logo.svg for an example. While going through some old slides I found a really nice image of the USS Clairborne out of Mobile, Alabama from April of 1959.
