Nicolas Desliens
Description
English: [world]Single sheet. Coloured manuscript drawn on vellum, housed in a modern blue half morocco slip case. The prime meridian runs through Ferro and north is at 180 degrees. There is a latitude scale. Flags proclaim European territorial possession, ships decorate the sea and the highly illuminated border shows eight winds. This chart and G201:1/52 are from the same original and on the same scale.

This chart provides a French perspective on European expansion, with the North Atlantic labelled 'Mer de France' and great prominence given to Nouvelle France in North America.
