Description |
This thesis deals with the procedures for and the issues in the analysis, design, and implementation of Library Loan Management System (LLMS). LLMS is a low-volume real-time transaction processing system intended for small or medium size libraries. It is designed to provide such library functions as library cataloging, patron registration, circulation, and reference services based on a relational database management system. We implemented prototype LLMS to run on IBM PC/AT or XT compatible microcomputer using dBASE IV. The developed prototype system has been documented in this thesis. We also discuss some issues in implementing LLMS in a networked environment. Subjects: Computer systems; Information science; Systems engineering.; Database system design and implementation. |
