Die Jute- und Segeltuchweberei Blancke repräsentierte (kurz vor ihrer Stilllegung 1981) als eine der ältesten Textilfabriken am Ort das ehemals bedeutende Textilgewerbe des Niederrheins mit einer zum Teil aus der Jahrhundertwende stammenden Technologie. Herzstück der Firma ist die Dampfmaschine. Sie dient dem Antrieb der Webereimaschinen und liefert die Heizenergie für die Fabrikräume und über einen Generator elektrischen Strom. In der Näherei und Weberei werden Leinen – und Jutegarn zu Sackstoffen, Segeltuch und grober Leinwand verarbeitet.
