Svenska: PENSELBURK. Cylindrisk med insänkt botten. Glasyren på utsidan mörkt brunröd, skiftande i gredelint, mot mynningen ljusare, på insidan och botten utsida gråvit samt på flera ställen upptill krakelerad, på kanten brottytor. Godset gråvitt, synligt i bottenkanten, mot glasyrkanten övergående i rödgult. Inköpt av Wilhelmina von Hallwyl 1909, i Stockholm. Under Kangxiperioden använde många lärda personer penselburkar tillverkade av bambu, trä och porslin med en billig dekor eller glasyr. Penselburkar som denna, med den här typen av glasyr, var sannolikt dyrare. Ännu merexklusiva var föremål i elfenben, jade eller andra halvädelstenar. Föremålet ingick i en sändning kinesisk keramik som kronprins Gustaf Adolf erhållit från konsthandelsfirman S. M. Franck & Co, London, till påseende. Sedan kronprinsen gjort sitt urval, lät han Wilhelmina von Hallwyl välja vad hon önskade köpa av återstoden.Brush-pot. Porcelain brushpot with high-fired copper red glaze. Kangxi period (1662-1722). During the Kangxi period many scholars used brushpots made of bamboo, wood, and porcelain that was decorated or glazed in an inexpensive way. A brushpot with a glaze like this one would have been more costly. More lavish still, were commodities in ivory, jade and other hardstones.
