Data modeling for files for works without Wikidata item

[edit]

Hello @André Costa (WMSE) :-) Your input (if any) or just an extra pair of eyes would be welcome at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons_talk:Structured_data/Modeling/Works_without_Wikidata_item#Trying_to_reach_consensus_about_this_data_modeling_proposal. Cheers! Spinster (talk) 07:14, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Spinster Thanks for the ping. I think the model looks fine but the use case i.e. when/for whom would it be beneficial to not have to create the Wikidata item (first). I think that would allay som fears. / Lokal_Profil 09:17, 7 August 2024 (UTC) <with wrong user logged in on my phone>[reply]
That's a great question. I approach it very pragmatically: for many uploaders creating Wikidata items is an extra complexity that may pose a too high barrier. Of course if we'd have easy to use, template-based software that would help with this process - that would make a difference :-) Spinster (talk) 10:25, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
