William Lloyd Garrison congratulates John and Hannah Cox on their golden wedding anniversary (fiftieth wedding anniversary)
On verso, is part of a letter to William Lloyd Garrison from an unknown person, May 29th, 1873, written on stationary from the "Office of E. B. Ward, Foot of Wayne St., Detroit, Mich." The letter begins: "Let me ask a favor of you -- The third thousand of my book:--'Chapters from the Bible of the Ages' is being published by Wm. Ward & Co., Boston. I would like to give all aid reasonable to its continued circulation." The rest of the letter was torn off
