Description

This study was made during the first five months of 1949, at the United States Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California. A flight to Honolulu, T. H., with VR-2, and one to Kodiak, Alaska, with VR-5, were made to observe air navigation by altimetry as practiced by VR-2 and VR-5. This study was made to evaluate the accuracy of air navigation by altimetry.
