Summary

[edit]
Description
English: (A) Isolation of Iodidimonas strains from natural gas brine water. Brine water was spread on the marine agar 2216 medium containing iodide and soluble starch. Note that bacteria of the genus Iodidimonas produce purple pigments due to the iodine–starch reaction. (B) Enrichment of Iodidimonas species in natural seawater. Natural seawater (left) was supplemented with iodide and incubated for 21 days at 30 °C (right). Note that the color of seawater changes to yellow due to the formation of molecular iodine.
