Hall informs May that he has a son dying of consumption. He also tells May that he does not want his last letter to be sent to Bristol in answer to George Armstrong's letter to May. Hall claims that May misinterpreted the words "sometimes spoke against the usual observance of the Sabbath." Hall meant that it was not usual for lecturers to speak on secular subjects on Sunday. He differs with May in his opinion of the proper observance of Sunday. Hall affirms that he will not stand in the way of the Bazaar and that he will continue to urge others to support the abolitionists
