At the top of manuscript, annotation in pencil says, "[ca. 12 Dec. 1843]"
Amos A. Phelps writes to the Maverick Congregational Society requesting an adjustment to his salary. This letter was never sent according to the annotation on the letter and a note in the legacy card catalog
