William Lloyd Garrison rejoices at the prospect of Henry Egbert Benson's recovery and hopes he is steadily improving. William L. Garrison has been suffering from scrofula, "a humor as malignant to the body as sin is to the soul." Rev. Joshua V. Himes advised "a course of Thompsonian medicine." Joshua V. Himes will leave his parish because of opposition to his abolitionist ideas. Garrison gives the names of board members who will collect signatures in the various wards of the city for use in petitions respecting the abolition of slavery in the District of Columbia. Angelina E. Grimké's appeal has sold rapidly
