William Lloyd Garrison quotes from a letter by James C. Jackson that was printed in the last issue of the Albany Patriot, which tells of a conversation between James C. Jackson and James Boyle in Newark, New Jersey. James Boyle describes Garrison's clique as the "devils incarnate" and mentions their attempts to cover up the "rascality and meanness" of John Anderson Collins. Furthermore, Boyle says that William Lloyd Garrison is controlled by Mrs. Maria Weston Chapman and makes a reference to the controversy in New Hampshire between Nathaniel P. Rogers and Stephen S. Foster and Abby Kelley (Foster)
