Oliver Johnson reports to William Lloyd Garrison that he has yet to see any public notice of Garrison's speech at Williamston, but that he is eager to hear its account. Johnson states that he does not think it likely that the Herald will print Garrison's speech, given its long-standing animosity towards abolitionists, and towards Garrison in particular. Johnson requests that Garrison direct the Herald to forward the manuscript of his address to Johnson's attention
