Following Johnson's signature, there is an additional missive, composed by "L.M.L.", in which the author states that Burleigh is unacceptable as a speaker due to the "interruption" of the writing for the "Repent"
Oliver Johnson forwards to William Lloyd Garrison a dedication composed by Mr. Aaron, and informs Garrison that he has yet to encounter Mr. Sloane. Johnson states that Cheever appears willing to speak, but may be burdened with a relocation at the time of the convention. Johnson suggests C.C. Burleigh as a replacement
