Oliver Johnson states that the New York City Anti-Slavery Society will be holding a celebration in Flushing, and desires William Lloyd Garrison to speak at the event. Johnson himself opines that this will do much to solidify the standing of the society, and to establish its identity as "Garrisonian". Johnson assures Garrison that the patience shown by their "Boston friends" to the cause in New York City will be rewarded financially and with new recruits to the cause. Johnson expresses his and Mr. May's confusion at the lack of news concerning the meeting of the Pennsylvania Anti-Slavery Society
