On verso, the delivery address is "Henry B. Stanton, Esq. or Joshua Leavitt, New York." It is postmarked, "BOSTON, NOV 27."
Amos A. Phelps warns Henry B. Stanton of the plan of George Benson (with William Lloyd Garrison ́at the bottom of it́) to have a special meeting of the Connecticut Anti-Slavery Society to ́get the abolitionist to commit themselves beforehand against a third party.́ Phelps urges Stanton, Joshua Leavitt, and James G. Birney to attend the meeting, and asks Stanton to invite Myron Holley and Alvan Stewart as well. Phelps also asks whether Stanton and Birney will attend the meeting of the [Boston Female Anti-Slavery Society] in December
